Nice article Kyle.

10,000 is about right for a driveable bowl game.

Everyone should check weather.com could be cold up there.

what an idiot! the fan doesnt know hawaii is in the united states...must have graduated from ucf. also 10k fans is pretty sad. you are going to tell me only 25% of the normal home crowd can make it to the bowl game? yeah that will impress the other bcs conferences!!

We have to get behind Coach O'Leary and make sure there atleast 10k up there. I have relatives in Nashville, so the drive to Memphis will not be that bad. We will destroy those toothless poodles by at least 30 points. I see 24k rushing for 200-250 yards on that porous defense. It is a good time to be a Knight!!!!

They need to hit the 10,000 mark at least to look good enough for future bowl bids. Remember it is all about the money. I know 15,000+ is pretty common for driveable bowls but 10,000 is not that bad given it is a holiday weekend. UCF will also get points in the future for being in a large TV market.

Bring jackets!

Why can't you support the GREATEST coach in Florida? He is a man of integrity that was the only coach in Florida who could sign 24k and he helped build our on campus stadium.

On top of the 10,000 UCF brings, many of the Memphis locals will be behind the Knights as well. It's going to be a great atmosphere on both sides.

As far as travel, 10,000 is a great number for UCF to bring to a bowl that is over 800 miles away. I don't think any other Non-BCS program is bring 10,000 to their bowl.

And FYI to the USF fans that feel that have to say something nasty about UCF on here, by last check BCS powerhouse USF had not even sold 4,500 to their bowl game. So it would probably be wise to keep quiet on this.

He has none as of date, but this is because he has built UCF brick by brick. Coach O'Leary did not inherit a program like Coach Meyer. What he has done at UCF has never been done before at any level. He has taken a program in its infancy and quickly turned it into a very respected team. He also has built a state of the art on campus stadium. What is there not to love about the man???

No, you're the moron! 10,000 is the standard ticket allotment most bowl games give to the particpating schools. The rest of the tickets are sold locally or to package tour promoters to be bundled with airline tickets and hotel rooms. There could well be more that 10,000 UCF fans @ the game, but 10,000 is a safe bet, since that's the number of tickets that have been alloted to the school.

Now, get off the computer and go back to watching wheel of fortune.

Ummm, not quite right. Even though there was not BCS system then, O'Leary has a claim to the national title when he coached at Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets finished first in the coach's and the writer's poll that year. BTW, it was GT win in the Citrus Bowl, right here in Orlando, that clinched the title. So, I guess you could say that he's won a national title in Orlando.

thats where you are wrong. ticket allotment is based on how many the school thinks they can sell. ucf said they could only sell 10k, msu sold 30k! basically it means ucf fans suck and dont travel well. im sure that will impress the bcs conferences. NOT!

That is a good point about the 10,000 from a non-BCS school. As for USF I know they had well over 15,000 at the Papa Johns Bowl last year, not sure about the oine the year before. 4,500, if accurate, is a good number give tne distance to El Paso. It is alot different then driving to Memphis.

Here is an intereting statistic, the Oregon and USF holds the record in distance for for two schools, almost 3,000 miles. The prior record was Florida and ?.

why would memphis locals be behind ucf? they probably dont even know where ucf is, plus they are only 3 hours from starkville. I have a feeling ucf will be severly outnumbered.

Memphis locals will be supporting UCF because UCF and U of Memphis are both CUSA teams
