For anybody going up to the game in Memphis, you are allowed to bring in a cow bell to the liberty bowl. Find a loud one and bring it. Go Knights!

MS will be a tough opponent for sure but win or lose - at least we get to "go to the dance"!!!! Seems that the football "powers that be" by selecting MS as our opponent, continue to do all "they" can - as with the Doak Walker snub- to diminish what 24K has accomplished this year!!!!! I hope our offensive line can hold and Kevin can get those needed yards to become the all time leader in yards per season!!!!! Surely then "they" can't ignore him!!!!! OR UCF!!!!!!!!

Lame comment. UCF is now ranked 27 in the AP and the Coach's polls. 30 in the BCS. Also - I hardly think Missy State is a high school team. Even the bottom rung of the SEC teams should be able to maan-handle the best teams in any other conference.

UCF will certainly have to bring their A+ game (and a little luck) to pull this one out! We'll be there to cheer them on...

Go Knights!

Meanwhile, Florida plays Michigan in the Didn't Get Anywhere Close to the National Title Bowl, in Orlando and USF gets to relive it's C-USA glory days by playing a bowl game in UTEP's home stadium, in El Paso.

For 2 million+$, on network not cable, against a real competition not a team that has not gone to a bowl in 7 years, is 7-5 and ranked in the 40's

Que next attack, pathetic

and Hawaii is ranked in the top 25. You play a crap schedule and win you make progress. Get rid of all the competition from your schedule and maybe you can get to the almost top but get no respect.

I know, I know, "we did'nt show up for the USF game", "we imploded".......... no you lost to a good team, deal with it.

How many ranked teams has UCF beat in the last 30 years?

Kyle,

I am tired of all the eewwwhhh UTEP has a strong and aaahhhhh UAB has a powerful that etc. etc. etc. These teams are ranked above 100 out of 120 teams and the articles you are writing about them make you look silly.

TAMPA, Fla.– USF sophomore defensive end George Selvie and senior cornerback Mike Jenkins were named First Team All-Americans by the American Football Coaches Association.

The honors are the first for USF since it has been a member of the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly known as the Division I).

Selvie and Jenkins were the only players from the BIG EAST selected and the only from a Florida based school to make the team.

“We’re excited for both of them,” said USF head coach Jim Leavitt.“Both are tremendous players, have great character and both represent USF in the right way . It’s a tribute to everything that is happening at the University of South Florida.”

Selvie is currently a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Award, given to the top college defender, and the Ted Hendricks Award, given to the top defensive end. He has led all NCAA FBS players in tackles for loss all season and currently is just a half TFL away from the NCAA record with 31.5. He also has 14.5 sacks, second in the NCAA.

Selvie is the only sophomore on the team and the second youngest player on the teams. Texas Tech's Michael Crabtree is a freshman.

“What a blessing,” said Selvie.“I didn’t see this stuff coming, I was just focused on football and school. I never set out to be named an All-American, I just wanted to win games and contribute to the team. It’s a tremendous honor and one I will try my very best to live up to every time I step on the field.”

Jenkins is considered the top NFL prospect at the cornerback position. The lock-down defender has three interceptions and 12 pass breakups all while being game-planned around most of the season.

“That is a humbling,” said Jenkins.“So many things have happened here at USF this season that have never happened before. What an honor to join George as the first All-Americans at this level for USF and to be the representatives for the BIG EAST. It is really beyond words what this means to me and what I know it means to George.”

Okay, how about I pick on *you*(the word that was omitted from your grammatically incorrect post), instead of O'Leary? I refuse to let these trolls try and rain all over UCF's parade. Show some backbone, will ya'?

At least when we jump, it's in a stadium that *belongs* to our team and not some NFL bottom feeder. Now, run along to class, I hear the bell at the elementary school ringing...

Tulsa has one of the top rated offenses in the country. Their quarterback was on par with Tebow for most of the season.

Shows you don't know much about college football.

Go away, little man. Post your pro USF propaganda on the Tampa Tribue boards, huh?

Are you joking??? USF goes to the SUN BOWL and you're posting jokes about UCF. Did you look at the polls you idiot? Your not even three spots ahead of UCF. USF got the head start, but in five years you'll wish you were UCF. Don't forget to make the rent payment on your "home field". Go USF Buccaneers!

To be honest with you, I think they wish they were UCF,*now*. Why is it that they troll these boards, making degrading comments about Kevin Smith etc., when they could be on their own boards, talking up how they're going to stomp on Oregon? It's' because they *wish* they went to UCF, that's why and because they don't, they come here to make jelious little comments. We're not fooled by your envy, guys.

Well said. Got to love the USF "alumni". They better win their bowl game too - because if they lose and we win, we will wind up with a higher ranking at year end. How great would that be!

UCF is on the right track, in a few more years we will be right in the mix of things. We schedule BCS conference teams every year (NC State, USF and Texas this year). We do have to play our conference schedule though - its not our fault that half the teams in Conference USA aren't that good.

But what we should be talking about is the way USF choked big time this year. They were number two in the nation and wind up in to the Sun Bowl. Nice season Bulls! USF is the team that underachieved and folded. UCF had a great year: conference champs, solid bowl game and the the top rusher in the country (statistically).

Oh yea, and the Big Least is not "big boy" football as you would like to pretend. They had a good year, but alot of traditional power teams had a bad season. The Big Least is still behind the PAC10, Big 10, Big 12 and SEC. I would maybe put you on par with the ACC. Thats about it. Don't forget about Syracuse #110, Pitt #59, Louisville #51 and Rutgers #49 - thats not too impressive for a conference with only 8 teams. GO KNIGHTS!
