Exactly what I was saying earlier. The constant pounding week in and week out exacts a toll. If a player is not being tested and battered every week he will have more to give on the one or two occasions his team actually plays a legitimate team. That's why teams like Boise State should never be considered for a national championship. Sure they are good enough to beat a lot of teams on ANY GIVEN saturday, but how would they fair if they had to do it EVERY saturday? They played the game of their life in beating Oklahoma in the bowl game last year, but how many games of their lives could they sustain if they had to face that type of competition every week? I suspect their record wouldn't be so impressive. I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to realize Kevin Smith is seriously benefiting from playing a 117 strength of schedule compared to the other candidates having to prove themselves every week against real teams with blue chip players.
Gosh...you are so right. Players like Bret Favre, Jerry Rice and Walter Payton were too small college to be considered for any major postseason awards. Those guys certainly didn't show us that they were ready for the NFL. lol!

This debate was about the Heisman not the NFL. Neither have anything to do with each other, and the Heisman has never been a predictor of how a player will be in the NFL...it's not supposed to. Come on man, don't make UCF fans look like minor league fans.

And what does the Heisman have to do with your commnt about Boise State and the National Championship?
