Agree with Hrmm--but, whether the NBA dream ends in 6 months, 6 years, or beyond, the young man has a degree from a reputable school, and a future that goes beyond a basketball court.

At least McNeal had the good sense to stay at school 4 years and get his degree. Too many of these players think exactly like Jerel thought, that they're definitely good enough to play in the big show. And although they probably are, it's just very difficult to get drafted, and if worse came to worse, McNeal could play in Europe for awhile, fatten up his wallet some, and then use his degree to land a job in whichever field he's chosen to be in.
