Friedgen's 2 cents: change incorrect

Full story: Baltimore Sun 14
Coach Ralph Friedgen said yesterday that it would do more harm than good to immediately make widespread changes to a talented, if underachieving, Terrapins team coming off one of the program's worst losses ... Full Story

Friedgen probably knows that if the guys on the 1st string are getting pummelled like they are, how bad is it going to be if the kids that are on 2nd and 3rd string get it? Change is fine if you have someone that can step up and make a difference, but you can't make chicken salad out of chicken sh*t.

its hard to believe that md. football has sunk this low. friedgen is teaching them the wrong lesson. under preformance lets you keep your job. its time they get in the real world. step up or your gone. how would you like to be sitting on the bench knowing you can play better?

Has Friedgen ever mentioned the crappy job he, Cosh, and Franklin did? It seems like they implemented a perfect gameplan and the players didn't execute. And with the defense, how many spread offenses have we looked terrible against since Cosh has been here?

This would be a very long year if the ACC was any good.

The defense has sucked under Cosh and will continue to.

The offence has sucked under RF and has been concervative since Taffe left.

RF has only won with the previous coaches players. Wit the kids he has recruited he sucks as a coach.

New coaches are needed!!! Clean house Debbie Yow and bring back some excitement to Maryland Football

If Maryland fans think the football program sucks, wait until they see the basketball team. Oct 15 is D-day. All of you Gary supporters are going to get what you asked for. And you deserve it you bunch of losers.

Coach Ralph..I'm the guy (your asst coach may say "nut") that keeps sending you info on Florida's Top 100 HS Football kids.

The kids down here get year round conditioning in humid/hot weather. You can't teach SPEED. Suncoast HS (Hester - Chi Bears Alma Mater) has a kid that broke Hesters return records.

Many want to play ACC (Miami/FSU get a lot of them) football (Wake, GA Tech, NC State coaches are down here like roaches).

Come & Get Them!! I'll pick you up at airport.

Since I read so much hate I would say that folks are just upset or mad that Maryland Football is so terrible. I am a little disappointed but not mad. Since 1980 how many really good teams has Maryland had - maybe two or three. Recruiting is terrible. Why is Penn State gettting the kids out of Southern Maryland? Why is recruiting limited in Southern Maryland? Take a look you may be surprised. The Fridge seems to have lost some love and desire for leading/coaching - it must get that back. You do not have to take up for a kid in the media to when football games - his parents are there to do that. If you love the kid than play him, stick by him for the team but keep it to yourself. Not trying to hate just an opinion as I know it is extremly tough to get any unit motivated.

2002...B-Ball National Champs, Football Orange bowl, ACC champs. Since then???? An absolute embarrassment of an ATHLETIC DEPT run by complacent and imcompetent morons. October 15th will be the 1st bell in what may well be Gary's swan song with his band of JV and JC wanna be's. As for FAT MAN? Well, he simply must go.

Fridges should just do a George Costanza - every time he has an idea or comes to a decision, do the complete opposite.

From the Diamondback today.
"Cosh has been pleased with how the system has worked so far, and although Terp blitzes have not resulted in sacks, he said it has disrupted the opponents' running game."

Can anyone please explain how Cosh was hired in the first place. If I'm not mistaken, he's been let go every time he's ever been a defensive coordinator. He hasn't just been terrible here, but everywhere he has tried it. What was in his resume that qualified him for this DC job? I sure hope the Fridge doesn't consider Cosh to be like a "son" as well.

I think he works cheap.

As for his quote, he must have gotten hit in the head with the football to many times in practice.
