going to buy Gary's new book: "My ego is more important than the program."

If he is going to find subpar talent that will stay for 4 yrs and not be successful on the court, at least be a GD leader and focus on their ability to graduate.

This is an embarrassing program.... Gary, you should be ashamed.

Vasquez could be the next Caner-Medley...except also annoying....promising his freshman year, but never gets any better, and leads the league in turnovers.

Caner-Vasquez is killing this team. Gary, please rein him in!

I don't know who to fault more; Vasquez for playing his usual selfish game in the last two minutes and chucking up a ridiculously bad three point attempt to grab some glory, when we only needed one point to keep the game going, or Willimas for letting the kid control the situation in the first place. Bowie outplayed him in a fraction of the minutes too.

Vasquez has an out-of-control ego and he's hurting this team more than he's helping it. Early in the game he threw up another ill-advised three-pointer when the crowd was razzing him. He's not an enthusiatic team player - he's a showboat who needs to work within the team structure or hit the bench- or find another program. He's really not that talented, but he honestly believes he is in his head.

just pathetic shooting a 3 when only one down and 9 seconds on the clock, particulary from a player who was ice cold the entire game.

Vasquez is terribly overrated. I cringe everytime he gets the ball. He can't drible well enough to be a point guard and he is a terrible shooter. He gets all of his points against crappy teams but in the big games where it counts he chokes and can't buy a shot. Not only is he the most hated player by other teams fans but he's probably the most hated player on his own team. Did you notice how the Terps took control of the game late in the first half with Vasquez on the bench and Bowie and Tucker in the game? Gary, please learn from this and bench Vasquez. He's terrible.

Talk of a four game winning streak is laughable. Those wins came against God-awful teams. And as for Vasquez "shooting well lately", it came against those same horrible teams. And for Williams to the use the words "good team" when he's talking aobut his team, he is even more delusional than I thought. He is the process of destroying this program that he once ressurrected.

I've been a MD fan since the days of Albert King, Buck Williams, Ernest Graham and Greg Manning. At the beginning of the season just looking at the roster I knew this team would struggle. They don't have a point guard and thats surprising since Gary was a point guard and he always had at least one over his reign at MD. Vasquez is a scrappy play with his emotion on his sleeve but other than that there is nothing special about him. In fact there is really nothing special about this team. Gist is their best player but he has not proven he can be a go-to guy. I know Gary never really got the top of line players coming out of high school with the possible exceptions of Joe Smith and Walt Williams but ever since the nucleus of the National Championship team left the players he has gotten have been IMO subpar and underacheivers at best. This team will continue to struggle all season, they have 10 wins now and in order for them to get to the Big Dance they will have to win at least 9 conference games and that will be very tough for them to do especially since they already are 0-2 in conference play. That means winning 9 of their remaining 14 conference games and does anyone think they will be able to do that?

G. Vasquez =J.Gilchrist....actually, now I've seen enough and think I'd take Johnny G. over Vasquez. Watching him makes it hard to be a Terps fan. His play is terrible, and he's even more disgusting to watch. He's got absolutely no understanding of the game. The only hope for this program is for him to think he's good enough for the league, and then find himself a spot in Israel with J.G. And to think we may have been able to get Jai Lucas if the backcourt hadn't been so crowded??

No, they don't. After watching VT lose to ODU, I would say VT is average at best. American is well below average.

Ray Morgan... please do not even talk about the tourney... this team lost to Ohio and American --- they won't even make the NIT.

Their RPI is in the 150's.

Vasquez was outstanding his freshman year but he has been inconsistent this year, at least what games I have been able to watch. Gary needs to discipline him in the VT game he missed like four wide open 3's, stop going for them pass the ball and help create opportunities for your teammates and STOP TURNING THE BALL OVER!! I knew the Terps would struggle this year with the departure of Ibekwe, Jones, and Strawberry but they should have won that game!!

When is GW going to put Vazquez on the bench. He is a liability on both ends of the floor.
