Terps' season of inconsistency

There are 13 comments on the Baltimore Sun story from Oct 9, 2008, titled Terps' season of inconsistency. In it, Baltimore Sun reports that:

Oh, the irony. The Terrapins are 4-2, but it's not the 4-2 anybody expected. By upsetting California and Clemson, both nationally ranked at the time, Maryland showed how good it can be.

Fridge's loyalty to Cosh has to be at the end of the rope or else he needs to go. Bring back Mike Locksey as the head man; he is killing MD in recruiting area players.

Auburn just fired their OC. Why can't MD fire DC Cosh? He has been more of an OC for the opposition then he has been MD's DC.

The Terps are a bookie's nightmare. But we can't say they're boring.

Typical underachieving Terps, pull off some amazing wins against ranked teams and then some lose to a team that they should never have lost to. I also don't understand why Cosh still has his job, he should be gone.

Look all kidding aside Ralph should be fired at the end of the season, along with all his terrible assistants. He was obvious who was running the show down there and when those 2 left you see what happened. It's the same case scenario with the basketball team. Two highly paid coaches who are lost without there top assistants. Ralph has proven just like Gary has proven that neither one of them can recruit blue chip players and we will be drowning in mediocrity if something doesn't happen real quick. Do you here that Debbie Yow real quick. All you die hard kool aid drinkers down at Md should join the oriole kool aid drinkers down at birdland for a party.

Damn, I am actually a terps fan. My cousin Lance Ball played for them(runing back) I was amazed when they beat Cal and clemson but just like the terps they underachieve every year it seems. They play up to their competition. I still think they have a good chance at making a bowl though. the frige has to rally his troops, lot of tough games left.

I loved this result.

Virginia -- 31
Maryland -- 0 (zero - zip - zilch - nada)

Maryland's - Defensive and Offensive lines and Linebacking corp are the worst in College Football.

I have seen harder hitting teams in powder puff leagues.

Maryland's recruiting efforts are going to take a major hit with this result.

Prediction:

Wake Forest -- 34
Maryland -- 10

Maryland will finish with a 5-7 record.

I am happy that Maryland is no longer recruiting Tavon Austin.

Jelani Jenkins, Travis Hawkins and Isaac Holmes will be signing with the University of Florida.

Unfortunately,we pay big salaries and expect big results from time to time in a coach.I still suggest that Ralph recruit more in state players and the pride factor will rise dramatically for the football team,in particular.Anyhow, inconsistenc y aside, score more points and you will win the game!If the Md. offense disappears and the D. plays a little softer this year then this a recipe for more heartbreaks in the near future.31-0?Nothing!?No points??Then the defense has to pitch a shutout and go into overtime, don't they?Let's use some common sense from now on and put some points on the board for the defense to work off of.The little intangibles and adjustments are for the coaches to work on and earn their salaries.I don't feel that Ralph deserves all the blame for poor team play.He could stand to lose a few pounds, though.

Why does Gary keep saying am happy that Maryland is no longer recruiting Tavon Austin like he says in all posts? Tavon is actually very close to signing with the Terps.

Fire Chris Cosh- even with the new defense, we still suck. Bring Blackney back- that way Fridge can remain loyal to the rest of the defensive staff and not have to fire them. Otherwise, if Blackney doesn't want to come back, allow the new D-Coordinator to bring his own people.

Gary is a strange one- in all his posts, he mentions that he's glad that MD is not recruiting Tavon Austin. Seems like he's a Terps hater and is insecure of himself. Perhaps Tavon Austin will come to MD, considering we burned the red shirts for both Morgan Green and Davin Megget and now have a pretty crowded backfield.
