Mr. Intensity

There are 9 comments on the Baltimore Sun story from Sep 11, 2008, titled Mr. Intensity. In it, Baltimore Sun reports that:

Dave Sollazzo might not be the face of Maryland football, but he's the voice. His raspy, drill-sergeant growl can be heard through meeting-room doors and echoing around the Terps' football complex.

Sollazo sucks and needs to be canned. His Defensive Line is horrible.

Fridge probably makes Sollazo run laps for such stunts. Since Fridge makes his players line up for chow by their GPA, does he the fridge also run laps and line up last for being a loser?-
Yea, Uhh Huh....

Unless you have been recruited by or played for Dave Sollazzo, none of you have the right to be so critical. Oh I forgot...these are Maryland's fairweather fans...one loss and everyone should be fired! Ask the players and their parents what they think of Dave Sollazzo. They all love and respect him. He is a great guy and an excellent coach and offers us a little entertainment on the sidelines when he shows his passion for the team...something you all should try.

Sollazo sounds like he could be a good D-line coach but he is an awful recruiter. The article states schools from all over the country are coming to this area to recruit. They are doing so because Maryland cannot keep any of the top players in this state and it's viewed as easy pickings. Sallazo needs to stick to the D-line calls and leave the recruiting to someone else.

Maryland's defensive line is a complete joke.

I have seen a better pass rush by Pop Warner and CYO teams.

Prediction for Maryland's upcoming game --

Califonia - 48
Maryland - 13

Maryland will finish with a 3-9 record (good for last place in the ACC - even behind Duke)

I am glad that Maryland is no longer recruiting Tavon Austin.

Jelani Jenkins and Travis Hawkins will be signing with the University of Florida.

My son is local and was recruited by Sollazzo and plays for Maryland. The local boys that leave generally leave because they don't want to stay in state...not because Dave Sollazzo can't recruit. The players love and respect him.
