No mention of Kim? Based upon what I saw last Saturday, he looked like a pro in a college uniform. As the season moves on he may emerge as the key TERP. He has court sense, vision, passing ability, plays the passing lanes and knows how to play vertical defense with his length and wingspan. Gary will eventually have a tough time keeping him on the bench. Pair him with the athleticism of Milbourne, Tucker, Bowie and Mosley and the calm control of Hayes and there is a nucleus. If our big men give us anything we can make the big dance while waiting for next years reinforcements.

Another year in the NIT. They might make the NIT. Hayes at the point? Too slow to be a starting point guard in the ACC. Neal still a key player for this team. Most of the kids playing for Coppin and Morgan are better than he is. No post players. Not one who will impact a game. A lot of yelling and screaming from Gary. A lot of Grevis turning the ball over. This program is terrible. And why can't anyone see that?
They can see it they just don't won't to admit. This kim scored 20 points against a high school team last week and now all of a sudden they are going to the dance.Gary has built a cult following over the years with these in denial kool aid drinkers. He can't do any wrong in there eyes no matter how evident the decline of this program has become. It's astonishing how powerful and loyal Gary has become in there eye's. |
Are you crazy? |
You're probably right. Where are all of Gary's boys who tried to bash me for the last two years? The ones who said I was just running off my mouth. You know who you are and I sure as hell remember who you are. Bucknell might beat Maryland. I won't even call it an upset. For an ACC team, that's BAD! |

Bob, please stop posting, seriously.
Just SHUT UP AND STOP COMMENTING ON THIS TEAM. We know you have an agenda against Gary and I'm tired of reading your crappy, ignorant commentary on any basketball story. You're a freaking broken record. I can't WAIT for this team to succeed this year so they can rub it in your face. |
It will never happen d--k head, and i won't stop until all you ignorant in denial fans admit that gary doesn't walk on water. |
No one should call this an NIT team until March. Can people wait at least until we see the team play a real game before we declare them a failure.
And can the the same be said that Md will be going to the dance because Kim had 20 points last week against a high school team. See i will meet all you kool aid drinkers half way if you will do the same. I am not on some personal campaign to get Gary fired i just get sick and tired of these in denial fans that won't admit that this team has taken a drastic turn for the worst in the last 5 years. |

Uh, Bob and Anti-Gary,
I don't think you realize, nor do so called "experts," how good this team will be. It's a little early to anoint Kim as a "future pro" but this kid flew under the radar because he wasn't on the AAU circuit, so I guarantee he'll turn heads. If you think people's opinion about Kim is based entirely on a scrimmage against a team, you're sadly mistaken. Just watch any video of the kid and you can see he has a high basketball IQ, knows how to play, and can score at will. That is why people are so high on him. If he had a little more muscle or played in the AAU circuit, I guarantee he would have been a top recruit Nationally. Want a comparison? Think Tayshaun Prince. I'm not SAYING he's as good as Prince, but that is the best person to compare him to when Prince was younger. I've also heard Dunleay as a comparison. Tucker was a good player last year and is better, Milbourne is much improved, and having Vasquez at the 3 spot will allow him to grab boards (which he's good at). It's going to be an adjustment for him not playing the 1, but he'll get better. I also think he'll turn the ball over a lot less. Believe it or not last year, Vasquez had a better assist to turnover ratio than Hayes. One problem people seem to overlook about last year are the large number of turnovers between Gist and Osby. That was more of a problem for this team then what some call the "crazy" playing of Vasquez. Vasquez is the best player on this team and yet gets most of the blame for MD's bad play. Is he part of the problem? Yes, but he just needs to continue growing. Yet he's still the punching bag from people with no basketball IQ, like Bob from Towson and Mr. Anti Gary, who I kind of think might be Bob from Towson in disguise. With Hayes back at the one and finally fully recovered from his ankle surgery of last season, you can expect this team to be at Top 5 ACC team this year. I guarantee. And I guarantee they bury Bucknell tonight by 20+. Dupree needs to come along more or MD might struggle against a larger team with a dominant center (Typer Hansgirl for example) but MD should still be able to do okay against those type of teams because they will have fast, quick guards. Check back here tomorrow gentlemen after the game tonight. I'd love to continue this discussion with Maryland's ignorant fans who think they know everything because they can post messages on an internet story. |

I'll just keep getting you angry Bob so you make stupid comments like this that I can report to the Sun so you're blocked from ever posting again. |
Steve you are just a little pu--y that thinks he is so knowledgeable in basketball, when you probably never played any sports other then climb the rope in GYM.Take a flying leap . |
Since you know so much about the gameh how come you failed to talk about what the Terps will do defensively. Slow white players will never be able to defend quick black players. DUMMIE!! |

With the loss of Osby and Gist, this is a rebuilding year. I'm anxious to see how the team competes with 3 and possibly 4 guard sets. The addition of Mosley and Kim will really help in the 3 point shooting area, which was a weakness last year.
Bowie, Tucker, Vasquez and Milbourne are athletic guys. If Burney can build on what he showed in the latter part of last season and we can get some contribution from the combo of Gregory, Neal, Goins and Dupree, well, this could be a very entertaining and competitive team in 2009. Add to this nucleus the big guys, Padgett and Williams, and we might be heading for something special in 2010. |
You're one of the dumb asses who keeps letting Gary get away with the mess that he has created. |

Ah, the anti-gary & bob two-hater attack - blind hate, too much time on their hands and an axe to grind. there are 15 posts here and these two donks account for 9 of them. i'd really be curious to ask of both - what is your scary coaching, talent-evaluating experience that you know so much more than the rest of us fans?
let's see what the team looks like tonight and take it from there. at least you might wait until they play. and of course, if they do well will you'll be the first to post an apology? of course not - you'll call it an anomaly. i dunno for a second how they'll do personally, that's part of the excitement of the actual game, but I am surely willing to wait and see rather than spout off constantly. |

Been a Terp fan since Elmore and McMillan were freshman (.. and YES I know that they didn't play varsity that year - but they broadcasted the frosh games on radio back then). After finally winning a championship - Gary gets "carte blanche" with me ... I'm still with him .. win or lose GO TERPS

here's my 2 cents - this will be a middle of the acc pack year for maryland. but, next year, i think maryland will have a legitimate shot at the acc title.
next year, vasquez, milbourne and hayes will become seniors and will have another year under their belts (hopefully will have more sense of urgency to win). kim will have a year under his belt. and, they have a kid named jordan williams that is going to make a big impact in the middle (hopefully shore up some defense and pull down some rebounds...score as well). so, no big expectations this year. Big expectations next year. btw, how is david neal still on the team? just seems like he's been there forever! |
See that is my only beef with everybody on here. While winning a championship is great and schools wait many years and never get one , no coach should ever get a life time free pass.See fans like you readily admit that he can never do anything wrong. After declining the last 5 years you still don't see a problem and that is wrong. |

Hey, Bob - you're getting killed on the other board so you come here to post your drivel, too? Man, you are the WORST board troll ever. Get a life!!!
