Dwight Burke's dunk came with 31 seconds remaining (not 7.9) and gave Marquette a two-point lead (not three). There was a free throw by Patrick Ewing Jr. and two by Wes Matthews in between Burke's dunk and Wallace's free throws. The two free throws from Matthews came at 7.9 seconds and gave the Golden Eagles the three-point lead.

I also find the first sentence of this story to be silly - of course the game had the look and feel of a Big East showdown. It was game between two ranked teams near the top of the standings in the final week of the season.
