Congratulations to a great win tonight and to Jim Calhoun for win #800. Great poise and hustle all night, players stepped up and defeated a quality team in Marquette. Now it is home for a battle with ND and then possibly a Big East regular season championship game matchup with Pitt. Tonight's game was exciting to watch on television. UConn Nation should be proud of our team and of Jim Calhoun what he has done at Connecticut. Thanks for a great season and many more memories that will last a lifetime for Huskie fans.

Uconn has won at ND (with a 35 game win streak), at top 10 Lou, at top 10 Marq, at Sea against top 25 Zaga, at bubble teams W Virg & Cinn, on a neutral courts against bubble teams Mia & Wisc, at home against top 15 Nova, at home against bubble teams Cuse and PC..."they are soft"...worse case scenario they finish 26-4 (14-4)...that would actually be a top 5 regular season for Uconn all-time considering record and quality wins...only the 1999, 1996 & 2006 teams had regular seasons like this...if they beat ND and at Pitt this would be the best regular season ever for Uconn...I know the post-season is what matters,but this year has been the most exciting regular season I can remember...much better then 2006 where Rudy G. & Boone, company lacked emotion, 2004 where they underplayed over and over until March, even 1999 where the league lacked competition...only 1996 is comparable with powerhouses Uconn, Nova, G-Town & Cuse/stars Allen, Kittles, Iverson & Wallace...I said last week all they need is 2 threes from Haralson and 10 minutes and they are a different team rest wise for their guards...I also said AJ has to demand the ball and he did...I also said Austrie needs to take a backseat to AJ & Walker...with similar guard play, the normal Adrian game and an effort to lob into Hash this team ranks with UNC and Ok as the team to beat in March...

I see all the people who were predicting a blowout by Marquette have gone back into their caves where they belong. Good win for the team, and for Calhoun. I just wish we'd fed the post earlier with Thabeet being 7 inches taller than their tallest player. We still won, and AJ Price did his thing. Let's keep it going, boys, because even without Dyson this is a team that can win it all.

P.S. Was Adrien playing today? Absolutely atrocious effort from him, and he wasn't even in foul trouble.

The defense was sagging in on the post. It wasn't quite zone but close. That's why they didn't pound it inside and ended up shooting more threes than they usually do. Great teams take what the defense gives them.

Monster victory tonight by the Huskies in a tough environment at Marquette. From A.J. being a lethal offensive weapon, to Hasheem controlling the boards, to Stanley having his best game of the season,(by far); for the Huskies it was a powerful statement game. I'm hoping that his outstanding performance tonight will continue to boost Stanley's confidence. He played tough D, and was a factor in helping UConn to control the glass,(in addition to the double-digit points that he contributed to the offense). Stick's continued positive contributions, like he showed tonight, will help offset the loss of Jerome. The key is that he needs to play within himself for the rest of the season,(and not commit needless silly fouls and turnovers) as he did NOT do tonight!
The team's being undefeated on the road proves that they have mental toughness. It was the third quality Big East win this season against tough opponents,(the previous big-time victories coming against a Notre Dame team which hadn't lost a home game in over a year, and also earlier this month at Louisville). This win tonight should help cement the notion within the team that they have the mental toughness, and can draw from this well of experience when things become tough in a hostile environment at any point the rest of this season.
Congrats also to Coach Calhoun for attaining his 800th career victory! I don't care what people have to say about his salary, confrontations with hostile media reps., and etc. The man CAN COACH. For you naysayers and Calhoun-haters out there: Think of what the UConn program could have been over the last 23 years if Calhoun never came to UConn,(or if the selection committee had hired someone else after Don Perno resigned in the mid-80's). Do you think that the Huskies would still have all of the Big East regular and post-season titles that they have garnered during that time period? Do you think that UConn would still have 2 NCAA banners hanging from the rafters at Gampel Pavilion if an inferior coach had been hired instead?
Go UConn for the rest of the season!

Adrien didn't show up but Stanley was all cylinders pumping. I think the guys had answers for every thing Marquette threw at them tonight (or JC's coaching did). Unfortunate that their Senior guard was injured and is out with a fractured foot, but they are a seasoned, balanced team and refused to slow down or give up. This is a good win for UConn. The BE Tournament is going to be brutal for the low seeds and exciting for the top 4. I agree with 'great year' about the team comparisons. This team is getting it done. Hoping for the best to the Huskies all through the NCAAs as well, and those haters who don't want to read this "hooray for UConn" drivel, and feverishly need to punctuate with bashing blogs can "EAT MY GRITS!" GO HUSKIES! U-C-O-N-N!

Right on! Except Austrie needs to take on a much bigger role on both sides of the court with Dyson out. Going forward, teams are going to mark AJ closer and take their chances on the other guards. I hope Haralson's 3's are a sign of things to come in March for we're going to need the bench points in the post season. Congrats to Coach Calhoun on #800! Now its on to #900...

i like haralson. i know he's young and perhaps doesn't have a ton of confidence but i think it's going to come as is his three point shooting. i love how he shows a bit of emotion out on the court. i hope calhoun gives him more minutes as the season comes to tournament time.

First off congratulations to Coach Calhoun.

Great win by uconn tonight. Nothing to really complain about. However it seems the Jeff Adrien has begun to settle for outside jumpers and drives, instead of his tried and true work on the boards and in the post. Tonight it wasnt an issue but I dont know if we can survive any more nights where he disappears in the first half. He did the same thing against Pitt.

Still great win, congrats Coach on win 800, GO HUSKIES.
