Still searching: Aggies can't put full game together, fall to Louisiana Tech

There are 20 comments on the Las Cruces Sun-News story from Nov 14, 2010, titled Still searching: Aggies can't put full game together, fall to Louisiana Tech. In it, Las Cruces Sun-News reports that:

DeWayne Walker is constantly preaching it. Play as a team. And, while his New Mexico State Aggies are getting better in that regard, there is still a ways to go for his football program, which fell 41-20 to Louisiana Tech on Saturday night in front of 12,486 fans at Aggie Memorial Stadium.

Can you say...Division II? Come on man...at least I would come out to watch a winning D2 team. I'm done with this mess though. How can a team consistently have these issues, year after year, coach after coach?
Mrs. President, it's your mess, clean it up. Start with the slug infecting the AD's office.

But they tried hard, so please!!! President Couture, look into your heart and once again cut the education budget in order to use the money to give Walker and Boston raises.

yes you'll drive all the way from Alabama to watch a winning D2 team. Give me a break. Dont make comments if you werent at the game. This team lost but they have drastically improved and Im willing to give Walker another year to prove he can recruit and build a program. Manley looked very good for a freshman coming out, someone who probably never played in weather colder than 80 degrees, playing in cold weather (39 degrees) and his first start. He looked better than Christian has most of the season. The linebacking corps are looking much stronger than they have since the beginning of the season. So stop your bitchen from Alabama. You have no clue.

You got to give him more than a year. It takes 4 or 5 years to build a bad program to a decent one. Hell, it took Spurrier almost 8 to build South Carolina up, and he is one of the best coaches in college football!

Walker is on the right path, NMSU has improved. They're recruiting class for next year is already looking better than last years, so I'd say in another 2 or 3 years, you will see a totally different NMSU on the field. Top 25 stuff? Of course not, but much better than what they are now.

That loss was a tough one to swallow. The team fought until the end. Our young guys stepped up when the starters were injured and I won't be surprised if Manley starts the rest of the year. If you saw the game, you know that it wasn't a blowout like the score dictates. The program is getting better, we are actually losing games we were competitive in and had a chance to win in. It's better than the losses we used to have where it was over in the 2nd quarter. People need to be patient and figure out that it takes time for a college football program to get things on track. Walker is getting his recruits. Be patient, our time will come.

NMSU - you're time will come when FSU, Nevada, and Boise leave.

But until then, next week will be a reminder why you're glad these teams will be leaving.

Go Pack!

2-8 puts it several years out, but keep on practicing by all means, and listen to Walker's advice about teamwork. "That individualism stuff is a bunch of crap," as Gen'l Patton had it. It only requires each player to do his utmost to mesh his own expertise with those of his mates. No showboats, no porkers. You know: Three Musketeers and all that rot...

Well if they can't put a full game together maybe they can get the WAC to agree to just playing half a game..work on that Teddy.

We have been season ticket holders for about 15 years... and we are still waiting for that bad program to get built to a decent one. I think the closest we came was with Coach Hess or was it Coach Samuels --- but they got fired. Then we got Dummy Mumme. We won't be buying season tickets next year. Show me a team that will win games, then we will buy season tickets. We will support the pink game - Cowboys for Cancer and when UTEP and UNM come to play here. That's about it for next year.

really hard to erase 50+ years of bad football. the issue is that idiot AD we have. Boston thinks he is so smart and knows so much more than those of us around here. he has zer people skills and no one is willing to jump on board with him. start with that idiot. walker is good and will do good things. menzies is the other goof who has brought in the jail birds and bad students.

The gaggies have been inconsistent at best even with the
starters.

NMSU stand by for the next two a-r-s-e kickings - you
may very well qualify for the NM TOILET BOWL game.

Give back the 4 million - it can't seem to buy anything
but a losing record - but then again whats new.

Next up ranked Nevada team which will blow NMSU out.

was at the game and I didn't think they played the best game ... in fact DEFENSE was horrible.. and we really need to get a reliable QB. I have season tix but if this continues that will be the end of season tix until they can win.
