NOT TRUE, WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN PLAYING ILLINOIS...#10 AND #13
Um no, Illinois was "eligible" of a BCS bid at #13, but not mandated. UH with that #10 ranking was "mandated" to be selected to a bowl under the terms of the BCS. Are you now saying that UH was (gasp) over-rated?

Under the terms of the BCS systems only #1 and #2 were mandated to play each other. All the other BCS bowls were free to select from the rest. The Rose Bowl selected Illinois because of the old school PAC10/BIG 10 Traditon.$$$$ talks again.

I doubt that any BCS bowl was ever going to put Illinois and UH together. Too bad Frazier's long-time Fiesta Bowl connections didn't return his calls, eh?

$$$$$ is why hawaii got put in the sugarbowl with Georgia, because the BCS looked at hawaii's ticket sales locally, saw that this team was not a huge draw, and decided to put hawaii in a region of the country where an SEC team would easily sell out what hawaii did not sell, so thats why we did not get another bowl in another part of the country. Moral of the story, we need to support this team even when they suck, even from the neighbor islands, even if your not going, buy the tickets and donate it to the boys club, or something, but we need to sell tickets. But trully with the recent developments in the coaching staff, it sounds as though we are looking a a good EAC team, and not another BCS invite for awhile, I wish this admin would start to think and plan bigger.

It's good to see a UCLA fan post here. When it comes to college football, I try to be impartial and I am not known as a UH Warrior fan though I do cheer for them.
My cousin Norm Chow now coaches for UCLA.
UCLA was 6-13 last year and 5-4 in non-conference games. Surprisingly they beat California and Oregon, something which I didn't expect. And in their last game of the season lost to BYU by one point. This was a game that they should have won.
So, for UCLA to fire their head coach was expected. And they got three great coaches in exchange for 2008.
UCLA has a solid players. Guys who are much better than many and most colleges in the nation. Their team is solid, but the better schools, like Notre Dame, Florida, Georgia, and Florida State tend to recruit better and much superior players. Guys who are out of sight and out of this world; fast, big, strong, and talented!
Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Miami are, also, schools that have done better in recruiting than UCLA.
With the addition of head coach neuheisel, chow, and walker at defense, UCLA is in much better shape. Yet, UCLA lacks the players to make it the number one powerhouse in the nation!
In all of my postings, I try my best not to bash other people and I try not to speak with a bias. I try to consider the facts as they are and I voice my mind truthfully. If a person speaks the truth, about football as an example, other people should never cuss you for the truth.
Anyway, UCLA is a good team nationally, but lacking the players to make it a powerhouse in college football.
IF Neuheisel and Chow can recruit better players for the 2008 season, I predict that they will go all of the way. A PAC-10 championship in 2008 and perhaps the title in 2008. That's how good UCLA is and should ought to be.
They would have to best teams like LSU, Georgia, Ohio State, and Oklahoma (who are powerhouses); including their neighbor talent rich USC.
UCLA does have a few good coaches now but the cupboard is bare.....with all the seniors graduating.

1.Duayne Walker will be gone in one more year,he want to be the man AKA the Head Coach.

2.Norm Chow is good but he has no talent and he is not a very good recruiter....at USC Pete Carroll fed Norn all he wanted.

3.With Tricky "Rick Neuheisel" time will tell get he has grown up yet...because everywhere he goes there are fireworks and issues.

4.Where is UCLA talent?.....it's current 2008 verbal commit class has been defecting to other programs.

Maybe UCLA better stick to Basketball....because the University has never truly made a long term commitment to College Football or College Baseball like they did to basketball IMO~!

Looks to me like "Bull Dawg" is the one that didn't CONCENTRATE, at least not in English class. I suggest the word "focus" instead. Fewer letters to deal with...

The lesson in this is you can't win them all. Eventually winning streaks come to an end, and a team will eventually lose.
That being said, the way the Warriors handled the loss spoke volumes. They were good sports, and their leader Colt Brennan showed alot of class in his post-game interview. I wish Colt Brennan and the rest of the Seniors the best in their future careers in the NFL or other professions they choose to pursue. Life has it's ups and it's downs. Life has it's pleasures, yet it also has it's disappoinments. How this team, especially the Seniors handled themselves all season has shown us they have gone from boys to men, in these past few years. The way this team was able to pull together for 12 wins, as well as their ability to console each other in their lone loss, showed their spiritual inner strength and will help prepare them for whatever tomorrow brings. Irregardless of what happened during the Sugar Bowl, life goes on. Go Warriors!
