Coach Mack's job is to pull all the pieces together. Rolovich is making the offensive calls. I think Cal lee is making the defensive calls. Once the game starts, Mack is dependent on these people to make the specific call for each play. Although he is ultimately responsible for the entire thing, the reality is that he depends on his coaching support. Therefore don't blame him for everything. Having said that however, the coaching staff needs a lot of help. I think the coaches need coaches.
I agree with is about adjustments....I mean how many times do you players have to miss a tackle before you gather them up on the sideline and tell them to play for pride? If your QB is getting pressured and sacked 6 times, when do you throw off the defense with shovel passes and run plays? Two things: 1. the line was coming upfield way to hard with no inhibitions 2. the defensive back field was playing pass the whole time. everyone hated when Jones ran the shovel pass because they didnt always get tons of yards...what they didnt realize that the purpose wasnt only to get yards, it was to keep the d line on their toes.

so i agree, the coaches may not be super experienced in making those type of adjustments and of course as i set at my office chair now, or laying on the couch watching the game, its easy to comment. I just hope that the coaches are able to "coach" themselves to make their improvements again.

Go Warriors all the way!!!!

I agree with your observations but I didn't hear anyone saying we should recruit elsewhere during the good years of 2006 and 2007, only now you say we should start looking in the midwest or south? Why don't we just go for the 5 star recruits Cali, Texas and Florida as well. There's a reason UH recruits where and who it does. Usually beacuse of personal connections and geography. If they did recruit the Midwest and South they'd end up with black and white players who are slow on their feet and can't tackle.
If anything I say tweek the offense a bit so that they're not so 1 dimensional. Defense just got to learn to tackle better and hold their ground.
black players slow on their feet!!!!!....I suppose you missed that thrashing Georgia put on Hawaii about two years ago in Nawlins against a far better UH team..hahaha

I would rather my tax dollars go to more important things like roads, renewable energy, health care, etc. UH sports is a waste of time and money. I'm sure a lot of the UH students left out in the cold because of budget cuts would like to see the wasted tax money spent on UH sports go to more classes and financial aid.
