Southern discomfort - Hawaii Sports

RUSTON, La.>> Perhaps some losses do hurt more than others. Hawaii's 27-6 defeat to Louisiana Tech last night was certainly damaging to the Warriors' hopes of contending in the Western Athletic Conference race. Full Story

No Tackleing, could not stop the run, red zone problems at the end of the first half, the list is long. And the hit to Alexander I feel was legal, sorry Warriors going to be a long season. Now GO VT, hea I live here so got to root for Tech.

Looks like its going to be a long season, Rainbows should start looking towards the next season.
Too bad they always look bad in front of national tv.
Lucky to win at least 2-games.

Most spread or run and shoot offenses run the ball. They have to hole the line backers a few seconds before they realize it's a pass. Hawaii will not attempt to run the ball so the line backers just drop back or blitz.

Tough lost but work on the mistakes and come back stronger at home.

For UH fans, the anger stage is about over. Now apathy starts to set in. Terrible game against a below average D1 team at best.

same old story about Hawaii can't win on the road...but this game was nationally telecast by ESPN2 so this lop-sided loss was very embarassing and bad for the UH football program.

LaTech which is a mediocre team ran roughshot over the hapless Hawaii defense piling up over 350+ rushing yards, most of it was due to poor tackling & defensive schemes....WTF!

With the triggerman Alexander ko'd and possibly out for the season and having a crappy defense, Hawaii's changes of having a winning season & a bowl game is looking very bleak.

Fresno St, Boise St & Nevada are probable losses, SJS is a road game so Hawaii will be an underdog. Only Idaho, Utah St & NMexSt games may be wins.

We can forget Hawaii chances in the Navy & Wisconsin games.....Hawaii goes 5-8 and only Greg Salas makes the All-WAC team.

Why does Hawaii always seem choke on the National Stage? Last nights game was the worse I've seen since 1992 when I started following the program. Yes, even worse than the Sugar Bowl game. At least Georgia is a top football school. The Defense could not tackle. On replays, every one was arm tackling and LT runners would run through 4-5 arm tackles. The Defense was simply atrocious. Did anyone catch Mac's halftime interview? The ESPN crew was laughing at him.
I hope and pray Greg Alexander is okay. I don't know what thee answer is. A 5-8 season seems like a stretch as Idaho is 3-1 and Utah State is much improved. Could be a long season and we might be sharing the cellar with New Mexico State.

If you got coaches who teaches how to pass and don't know how to run the ball, how do you expect the defense to stop the run when your team don't run the ball? All they do is pass, pass and pass. It's time to cut the Lee brothers who still coaches on the high school level. What an joke on national TV.

If you don't have a running game why have a running back in there. Every football team (high school, college, and pro's in the U.S has a running game input with ther offence. Is Hawaii's team offence only passing the ball? If so you will have a tough season. All the bombs you try to throw to the recievers won't get there cause the defense will blitz you on every play and get to the QB. It happened on your last two games and will if you don't show any any changes.

UH is soft on both sides of the ball on the line of scrimmage. Our linebackers are too slow to react to the run and hit the holes. nobody on Defense can get off their blocks. it was an embarassment to the program. When will UH realize that we need a real College head coach

HELL NO! Fresno wants to run him out of town and we would pick him up? Go from one dud to another? What we need is a fresh, young, innovative, hungry, unafraid coach who we would be able to get for at least $400,000 less than the dud we have now. Mac coaches with the look of a deer in the headlights and ALWAYS retreats into a conservative defense first mentality. Run and shoot is based on being aggressive and being unafraid in playcalling. Mac may talk a good story but he really don't truly have total conviction in it. As I been saying from the very beginning, Mac is a fake, a dud, and a jerk! That phony "nice guy" personna is finally being seem for what it is - a means to hide his gutless personality.

Bradley will become one of the best receivers in UH history (if our QBs can deliver the ball).

why is losing alexander a big loss?

although he was the nation's leader in total offense, he isn't running the run and shoot to its full potential.

in the last two seasons, hawaii's only scored more than 40 points twice (against powerhouses idaho and new mexico state) and more than 30 points five times.

we should be averaging 40 points per game.

it's time for a change.
