49ers run out of gas
#1 Nov 14, 2010
Monson is blaming the players for being gassed? The starters weren't mentally sharp because you played them 175 of 200 minutes. You'd better take a chance with a couple more bench players and fast. If our guys are wiped out by the end of their first game, just think what will happen in that 3 game tournament next weekend!
Starters = 150 minutes
Bench = 50 minutes
Find a way to make it happen Monson.

They got beat because they were fatigued?????????? This is the first game of a dreadfully difficult early season schedule and they are already fatigued. Wth the bench depth Monson claims to have, how can he claim fatigue is a factor. He can't have it both ways. Either the bench is not very good or the players are not conditioned well enough. If they are not conditioned well enough, that is clearly Monson responsibility.

Someone on the bench will have to step up to relieve the starters. The jury will be after the next few games. If they''re still gassed then maybe tweak the starting line up so there is some fire power coming off it. Also if they were fatigued then why not utilize some time outs so players can catch their breathes?
