Nice win to start the conference season off for the Bulldogs. Yet...still no word from the administration on Eddie's status.

Yes. What's the story behind Eddie?

I was there tonight and it was a good game. With just two minutes to go the score was tied, even though UNC-A was up several times by 10 points.

The big guy George is a nice show, but is no serious contender for a Pro career. A Lebron James he is not! He's basically a tall pole. He never jumps, rarely moves faster than a lumber, doesn't control the boards, can't bend over and scrap for the ball. But he is a big pole and obstacle for the opposition.

Best player for UNC-A tonight had to be Smithson.

They better give him a raise and sign him to a 10 year contract. You will not find a better coach than Eddie for UNCA. He always does what's best for the team and school. He has sacrificed his wins lot's of times just so the program could make money. Not to many coaches around today that would do that. It's great to see him have a really good team this year.Kenny George is a lot of help for this team. He gives 100% every game.

Agreed. George has a big heart and plays hard. I just don't see NBA material in him now. He's going to have to learn to "MOVE" if he wants to compete with the big boys and for the big bucks.

They had a capacity crowd tonight...when their new venue opens in 2 1/2 years they better have a coach with stature to keep it filled...that should be Eddie...

It would be a real shame if Eddie is not the coach to take them into the new Kimmel Arena. I agree that he is a classy guy who has given much more to UNCA than UNCA has given him. If he is the coach when we initiate the new arena, I will buy 2 reserved season tickets. If not, I doubt I will be as excited. I say sign him up for 4 or 5 years to get him to retirement and let this be his last job.

OK - here's my 2 cents..The Center was Sold out. Fantastic! Thanks for everyone's support!! We've needed that for many many years!! The commentator on the radio - since I was turned away at the door - said that over 200 people were turned away at the door. WHY CAN'T FOLKS SUPPORT OUR LOCAL TEAM WHEN THEY ARE NOT WINNING?? LIKE THE LAST THREE YEARS??? Where oh WHERE have all of these people been all of this time??? Trust me - It's not Eddie - what's his last name - that has made this yr's team do what they are doing this year! It's the SCHEDULE!!! They didn't have to face - and LOSE - to teams that destroyed their mental readiness. I put that check mark in Ms. Cone's hat - NOT EDDIE's hat! He's not smart enough to realize that!! The guys on the team don't even respect him - the editor of the Blue Banner told the story at the beginning of the season!! And it makes them sick to hear folks give him the credit for all of this success!!! Plus - It's the senior's that got together and decided to go for it not matter what!! They guys appreciate that the fans are here for them!! Please do NOT give the credit to Eddie - his contract is up and he needs to get out of there as ground is breaking on the new BBall "arena" in April..Seniors are leaving! Eddie has gotten lucky this season has worked out. Open your ears people!!!

The kid is 7'7"....he has had development issues... when a body grew at the rate his did, joints, tendons and muscules never advanced at the same rate as the rest of him.

he's already had mulitple surgeries on his knees....and had missed considerable time in high school because of this.

He needs the proper conditioning and I hope he gets it because if they use him just to win, they could damage his legs forever.

I am sure this kid is in terrible pain most of the time, and I wouldnt disgard his slowness or lack of speed to a choice he is making .....he can't help it.

Again. George has heart and is most likely a fine young man. My comments about his playing ability and likelyhood of making the Pro's comes from the perspective of a former basketball player and now current spectator. I sat next to a fellow at the game who told me George was in his junior year and next year, if the pro's don't take him, they'll be charging $10 and not $6 to get in to see him. If we pay that much it'll be becasue the need money for the new arena, not George. Again...nice kid, but his only basketball asset is that he's tall.
