Steffphon Pettigrew is a fine young man. I think Kentucky would be crazy not to offer him a scholarship. He is what a team needs. He is a team player first a foremost. He does what is best for the team at all times. If you need him to rebound then that is what he does. If you need him to score then that is what he does. He won the three point shooting contest at the Derby Classic so he can shoot with the best.(Think we need that????) HE is also conducts himself in a manner that any parent would be proud to have as a son. I have watched this young man for four years and he has the best on court temperment I have ever seen. He never complains to the ref even when he is being hung on beat on or taunted. He never taunts or shows off. When he does something fantastic he just goes back down the court to play defense or offense without a display. If Kentucky doesn't offer him a scholarship I think it will come back to haunt them. Remember Phil Cox, Chris Lofton to name a few.

it would be totally nuts not to offer pettigrew a scholarship. Kentucky needs Kentucky boys with the heart and the soul and to know what it means to play for Kentucky. We need someone to look at those rafters and see the history of Kentucky basketball and wants it means to grow up watching and wanting to be a part of them. Look at the history of kentucky basketball and hell even louisville. When they have won championships they have always had kentucky boys to be there and play an intregal part of the team . Please Billy G sign him

I've grown up in Kentucky as a U.K. fan and I can't remember a decade that Kentucky didn't have big time contributers from the state until now. Over 33 points a game, over 13 boards a game and not yet talked about is blocks per game without fouling out. Are you kidding me? Pettigrew is an all around athlete that is under rated. If Gillespie lets Georgia get him it will be Chris Loftin all over again for four years. the prodigal son will return to Rupp and deliver a solid beat down.

One more thing I forgot to mention in this NCAA one and done time frame; Pettigrew would be a good candidate to stay in school more than one year. He wants to be a business major,he didn't say he wanted to major in B-ball. Keep chasing the hottest things in the nation and the names Duran(Texas),Rondo and Morris come to mind.

something is not right with this kid if xavier, cincinnati, and western kentucky are the only schools with interest. maybe billy g is planning something bigger for that scholarship? who knows ?

no u got that one a bit wrong. pettigrew did not shine at the camps last summer. he was not a top 50? ranked high school player. that is why he was so overlooked. he had a monster season this yr that brought him on kentuckys radar. plus if im not mistaken he was playing pf and center and in college will be a 2 guard

then why are other teams over looking him? why has pitino not stepped up ? tennessee or indiana not interested? just mid majors have expressed interest. it looks like billy g has already allocated the scholarships he has to offer. maybe it is to little to late ? i hope this isnt another one of those kids that comes back to haunt kentucky. it also looks like billy g is avoiding projects and going after the best he can get at this time. who knows ?

He can play small forward. He is one of the best rebounders I have ever seen. He has the ability to go up quicker than anyone you have ever seen. He also won the three point shot contest at the Derby Festival as well as the MVP in the Ohio vs Kentucky all-star game. Jack Givens wasn't any taller than he is and look how he turned out.

Sparks left after Felton went to Georgia. If Felton had stayed Sparks would have stayed too.
