Rick sold Ky. out. He won at Providence in 2 years, who recruited them? No one knows. Sold them out & turned Knicks around. Maybe getting Ewing his 1st year had something to do with that. Ky., you or I could get in final 4 there. Every coach has.Boston, ran out of town. Lou., 2 most consistant players were Denny's. 5th year, 4 top 5 recruiting classes, where have they gone?

I agree with one of the previous comments that we need to write to Barnhart to fire Tubby, but I'll help fan the flame among us. I hope Tubby's words at PTI the other day become a clarion call for all of us. Tubby had "good" things to say, "We won 4 out of our last 6 and beat mid-majors like Iona and Libscomb." (2 teams I don't know well enough to spell!) Back in the day (the YEARS of victory), losing 2 out of 6 games was horrifying and Pitino expected to only lose 2-3 games a season.

Tubby and the people who support him deserve the double digit loss record that Tubby has given to a once elite program. Shame, shame, shame. Obviously, the inmates have taken control of a once-proud dynasty.

Why,@ 2.2 mil a year, can't Tubby teach his players to hit foul shots. Is he too busy counting his money? They throw up (no pun intended) one brick after another. There is no excuse for such ineptitude. Bring back Rick, a proven winner who has publicly stated the he made a mistake when he left UK. Wake up Lexington.

Tubby can't even teach his guys how to pick and roll to the basket. He can't teach them to get the ball into the middle to Morris. Tubby can't get his players to complete hard. Tubby can't teach his players to chase after a guard ahead of the pack. To often the third player down the floor is there for an offensive dunk for the other team. Why does Rondo wait until five minutes left in the second half to drive the lane for a lay up or a dish? I still believe Bradley is a pretty good player. He is head and shoulder ahead of Stockton. What would Roy Williams, Rick Pitino, or Coach K, do if he had a center as talented as Morris, and he just drug around with 3 or 4 rebounds a game. Hell I am 66 and I could get 5.

I guess some fans are happy with our showing in the SEC tournament. We won two out of three. Buit we lose again to a team we should have beaten. When Tubby plays twelve different players in a game the opposing coach must look toward heaven and offer a thank you. There is not a team or coach in America that would play twelve players in a game they really needed to win. Thomas, Stockston, and Sims are nice guys, but they don't mdeserve over 5 minutes in games. If Tubby played Crawford, and Bradley 30 minutes, they would average double figures in scoring, and play good defense.

Rick isn't what every one thinks that he is. They don't give Tubby Smith any thing that he did the first season after rick left and i think that they should.
That is because it was Pitino's team. The year after he left, all of the starters had played for Pitino, and had his coaching behind him.....Tubby deserves zero credit for that year. He'd only get the credit if he screwed it up!

point in case: 2005-2006.
say what you will, those of you that felate pitino daily, tubby's team beat rick this year, and our post-season is looking a tiny bit better, eh?
pitino left, get over it. he was a good coach, but he's not god. if kansas can take the big 12 with one senior, no juniors, and the rest freshmen and sophomores, pitino should be able to run in the big east with four juniors and taquan dean.
yeah, we had a bad year... but we still came away with 20+ wins. anyone else think we're a little spoiled?
crawford is too selfish with the ball to deserve more minutes than he gets. starting five should be rondo, bradley, sparks (point), perry, morris.

The state of KY has 2 of the Top 10 Coaches in the country. Kentucky needs to get over Coach Rick Coaching U of L and move on. Remember what Rick did for KY and be thankful for it. Both louisville and Ky are having a down year every team has them, NC did in 2004 and look what they did in 2005. 1985 U of L went to the NIT look what they did in 86. I would liek to thank Coach Pitino and Coach Smith for what both has do for U of L and UK.

I wish Western Kentucky could get some credit. Their coach Darrin Horn has turned the team around. They have winning seasons every year but just cant get it done in the conference tourney. Im not saying Horn is a top 10 coach, or even a top 30 coach, but he is a fundamental coach. This really dont have anything to do with your comment, but you mentioned Kentucky having two great coaches, I just wanted to add another.

Oh,but it continues. I swear why don't we just fire Tubby and let the people on the this message board coach the team. They are so intelligent. I mean if you honestly think Tubby deserves no credit for HIS championship in 98 youre a complete and utter IDIOT. Why doesn't he desreve any credit? Because Pitino recruited those players that didn't get the job done the year before. Pitino choked in a close game like his known to do. PLus tubby didn't have the likes of Ron mercer, Derek Anderson, or Anthony Epps when HE led us to number 7. I guess Tubby doesn't deserve credit for his National Coach of the Year award either when he led us to a 16-0 SEC record and 25 game winning streak that year, either.
What it comes down to is that most fans are infatuated with ole Ricky P and no matter who replaced him was going to face their wrath. Tubby is at least a Top Ten coach and probably top 5.
We had a bad year, get over it and root like hell that we can be UConn. Not likely, but not impossible. If you don't you can always catch the Cards in the NOT INVITED TOURNEY (NIT). Tubby forever, Dumbasses never

It makes me see red to read the comments from so called fans that thinkl Tubby is doing ok. We are not use to just being ok, we expect a final eight every year, and final four at least every four years. The ignorant fans from some little burg in arkansas or Alabama that continually extoles Tubby's skill suck. Where did you learn about basketball. You obviously aren't bright enough to be as true UK fans.

Amen brother Benjamin. You hit the nail on the head. These fans probably couldn't even find their way to Lexington let along be a fan. They must have crawled out from under a rock on rocky top or on tobacco road.

bright enough? you think it's reasonable to expect final fours or elite eights every year? And why would people in Arkansas and Alabama be cheering for UK?
Never mind that, though. I'm not extolling Tubby's skills, I'm belittling Pitino's. Tubby may not be great, but he had a better season than Rick did.

Pitino is a four letter word spelled with 6 letters. I still don't think you understand what it means to be a Wildcat Fan. Put yourself in the shoes of stinebrenner of the Yankees. They had better win every year or somebody had to answer to him. The difference with the Cats is there is no one accountable for screw-ups. Both Tubby and Barnhart should be held to the high standards that is expected of them. Losing twelve games to teams like South Carolina, Vanderbilt(2), Tennessee, North Carolina (this year especially), and Florida (2) times.
I say if you demand perfection you get better performances night in and night out. Bring on a new coach who will lay it on the line.

You think that is bad then be in the state that sent off gladly to KY. When folks down here come up to me and say "good gosh to VANDY. NOBODY LOOSES TO VANDY!" It is so embarassing!I mean first of all you have your 3pt.man sitting on the bench for the majority of the game. Then Lemaster is sitting on his rear too. OH and let's not forget you can't EVEN recruit the Mr Ky basketball to your school in state, and he beats the tar out of you to rub it in his face. Listen here folks, Pitino gave ol Tubby a NCAA championship on a silver platter. When it came his turn to finally recruit on his own, he has not done a good job. Hey and Barnhart enough said about that looser too. Did you know folks that the second largest alumini fan club is in Atlanta? Do we need to home to fix things? For God's sake stop the bleeding nowq and dump Tubby with his tub and all.

Well, like it or not, Tubby isn't going anywhere. Not this coming year, anyway. He has a contractual bonus of 1.5 million dollars headed his way.
Funny, I always thought being a UK fan meant supporting the team. I guess I just forgot, the coach isn't part of the team.

Oh, now i'm hearing from this guy over here that the coach is part of the team. What the hell does he know, anyway? We want another championship, and Tubby be damned, he only has one! Forget about all those SEC championships and whatnot, no one cares about that! We want to be the best all of the time!

...
Relax, people. We had a bad year. If next year is as bad, then I'll jump on your anti-Tubby bandwagon, gung-ho. Until such a time, chill.

Mary Jane you really put it out there for all to see, but some of these idiots dont know what it means to be a UK fan, and have to face your friends day in and out. If people remember, Pitino won the NCAA in 1996 and went to the finals in 1997. He lost in the final game because he refused to risk an injury to Anderson in order to beat Arizona. Tubby's first team had many of those same players that played in the finals and Jeff Shepherd that was redshirted. Tubby can't recruit. They have it right when they say we don't have the same kinds of players,. Dump Tubby this year. We'll take anyone. I can think mof a dozen coaches that would dol a better job.

First action is to get rid of the UK Athletic Director
