The NBA draft Lottery is fixed.
Is just a way for the NBA to assure the big Market Teams get better drafting postions.
If we come out of this with the top pick I am going to be surprised.

Putting your "Hope" in a guy you won in a four ping pong ball lottery is like going to the Cheetah to find your wife.

Its a prostituted process, and anybody that thinks the boys who are being "won" want ANYTHING to do with the Miami Heat, and Pat Riley are crazy. We will get the guy with the poorest momma back in the ghetto somewhere. Hes the one who is willing to take the least money and get to pimpin' ASAP.

shocking---another sun sentinel writer with negative thoughts. i didn't see that one coming. the sports writers at the sentinel are clearly the worst in the country. i went to green bay a couple of years ago when the packers played the dolphins. the pack was not that good that year, yet i could not find one negative article in any of the 5 newspapers i read. simply put--those writers love their team. i wish i could say that about our writers.

With the size of Rileys ego, compared to his ineptness, they will need four number one picks just to compete

This is what the Heat should do. If Baron Davis does opt out of his contract with the Warriors, the Heat should try to sign him. If they do, there you have a point guard. Now since they have a PG they can go after Beasley, if they have the first or second pick. then they'll have some good staters with Davis at point, Wade at guard, Haslem at SF, Beasley at power forward, then Mourning at center.

This team tanked the season. Teams that lose on purpse and keep all their two best players out for the last month because of "injuries" should not get a top pick. Yes the Heat really sukced, but the tanking at the end really defines this organization's character.

Stav, maybe you should have watched some of the Heat games before posting ignorant comments. We maybe put D-leaguers on the court, but they definitely didn't lose on purpose. And playing injured players with nothing to gain is thought of as wise maybe in Bridgewater MA, but anywhere else it's considered retarded.

Bigcountry must think cap space grows on trees and there will be any of it to sign Davis for the (big) money he'll undoubtedly want, right?

That's usually Mr. Negativity Ira Winderman's whining articles. Nobody reading here actually takes any of the poop he produces seriously, except the Sun-Sentinel who apparently likes to waste salary on him.

The Heat will not get D. Rose. If you heard M. D'Antoni's presser in New York, he says Rose will be able to run his offense "if" the Knicks were able to draft him. He even copared him to Steve Nash. You can bet your last $$ that the NBA woull love to see that happen as well. Then we will all see how "random" the weighted lottery really is. Your 2010 Knicks line-up: D. Rose, Lebron James, Leandro barbosa, Boris Diaw, and David Lee. By the way I Hate the Knicks....

Martin, I agree with you. I bet David Stern will add a bunch more ping pong balls with the Knicks name on them! The NBA draft should be like the NFL'S, whoever has the worst record drafts first !

The Heat may have never selected higher than expected, but whomever they've picked has outperformed its lottery selection (Dwyane Wade, Caron Bulter, Glen Rice, Rony Siekaly, Kurt Thomas and Steve Smith) I feel confident that even if the ball doesn't bounce our way, he'll eventually be a stud. History says so.
