With a third or fourth pick Bayless or Mayo would be my guess. Derrick Rose is likely Miami's first choice. Perhaps Michael Beasley but he does not seem so interested in the defensive end so Pat Riley may not like him as well.

In 2003 it was LeBron, Darko, & "Melo; and everyone else. Wade and Bosh turned out okay. Still, gotta get Rose.

Please keep in mind that these two Blue Chippers are NOT going to sign contracts to have their careers ruined by Pat Riley. He does not develop young players, and uses them up quickly. Ask Wade. Ask Cook. Ask Wright. Ask them ALL. We will get the kid with the poorest mama. He will sign for fewer millions and get to thuggin' at the SoBe clubs more quickly.

buckeye, are you a moron? there is s rookie cap and its not like the nfl, they get slotted.#2, Riley started wade from game 1, Riley has been so good that most of his picks are in the late 20's, meaning we have been a playoff team and didnt need a starter. C butler started as well you jack---. Anyway, No way we take the corpse of brook lopez at 3 or 4. IF we dont get lucky, I say we get Mayo at 3 who can play the point and will be a star, and mayo or bayless at 4 depending on who goes at 3. D Rose is the man, and its a guards game now. Maybe zo can come back for a 2 or 3 year run and stick it to shaq and win a title. If hes healthy, he is still a top 5 center in the nba,
Rose
Wade
wright
Marion
ZO
Plus Free agent add on
D Cook
Quinn as a backup pg
We are a playoff team next year either way,

Derrick Rose will be better than Chris Paul, I called it here. Hes bigger and stronger, and just as quick, GIve him a year or 2 to get his shot going. If we get beasley, thats still a win win, All those bad heat teams from 88-91, we never won the lotto or even got #2. so we are due. Anyway, mayo was the consensus #1 piok if he came out of high school last year, and he played on a decent team, so he needed to shoot. He was considered the 2nd best high school PG behind rose last year. What I am getting at, is hes good enough to bring it up and be paired with Wade, SO< LETS ALL NOT PANIC IF WE DONT GET 1 or 2, as the article states, at 3 or 4, we are going to get a star as well, just not THEEEEE star. But a healthy wade and marion, paired with any one of the 4 I mentioned, we are looking good. But Buckeye, you are a jack---, pick 1 gets like 3mill, pick 2 gets 2.8, pick 3, gets 2.6, this aint the NFL, and THERE ARE NO HOLDOUTS------THEY HAVE TO SIGN DUMMY

Another reason for Rose, Look at what Durant did for seattle,? nothing. look what a dominating PG does for their team? see williams and paul? New orleans sucked before paul, and utah had boozer and kirilenko and sucked. Howard in 4 years, just got out of the 1st round. Now. Look what Nash did in phonenix? Look what J Kidd did for New Jersey. Does anyone see the Trend?

Easy there with that statement. Paul is the best PG in the game right now. And he has been amazing in his first playoffs. Rose is going to be a good player, but I wouldnt say he is going to be better than Paul at this point.

Its Rose/Beasley or bust for this team. Its a two man draft, I dont care what articles say what.

The heat has zero chance of getting no. 1 or 2 because the lottery is rigged to win for the bigger market teams and to punish riley for leaving ny.

Wade turned out ok? He's the only one with a ring and consistent playoff success from the get-go. Remember he's been in the playoffs every year since his rookie campaign.

Rose. I think he could be a great player and if we get the 2nd pick I could definitely live with Beasely. Bayliss would also be nice.

You have to admit, When we have had bad lotto bounces , we have been ok. in 1989, worse record, #4 pick, We got Rice who turned out to be the best in the 89 draft. on 02, we had the #10 pick and landed Caron Butler, who would be a top 3 pick now. and, in 03, #5 pick and we all were depresed and happy we signed lamar not even realizing what we got with Wade, My point is , that if we get bad luck next tuesday, Mayo or bayless can turn out to be a deron williams/dwade. No one thought it would happen at #5 in 03. Obviously, we need rose or bealey, but I think Mayo/Bayless would be a great addition, and get the Big in free agency. We are due for lotto luck however.

Heres what ESPN is saying about Mayo, moving up to the consensus #3, I say we get him at 3 if we get the 3rd and bayless at 4. He wouldnt be a bust, and could be a wade.(if we dont get 1 or 2)

In the meantime, here's the latest word from around the league …

• It's not easy for a draft prospect's stock to move up much when teams can't watch him play. But I'm hearing significant movement is taking place for USC's OJ Mayo.

As more NBA teams watch his tape and do background checks, the more it looks like Mayo may become the consensus No. 3 pick in the draft.

Mayo's stock suffered at the start of the season based on some pretty unrealistic expectations. He's been on scouts' radars since the eighth grade, and many expected him to be a LeBron James-type dominant player as a freshman.

His per-game numbers were excellent for a freshman: 20.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists on 44 percent shooting from the field and 41 percent shooting from 3-point range. But they didn't blow anyone away.
Scouts complained about his shot selection and the fact that he didn't appear to have the point guard skills they thought he might have. Many dropped him from the top 10 on their draft boards.
But Mayo finished the season strong enough that teams had to go back and re-evaluate the tape. What they're seeing now is generating significant buzz. Multiple GMs are now telling me that Mayo's talent may be as good as advertised.
"When you start to reassess a kid like that and quit looking at just the flaws, you see a very talented basketball player," one prominent GM with a pick in the lottery said. "I think he's going to be great."

But there's another story, too, that's helping Mayo's stock. More and more teams are reporting that their background checks are coming back as positives for Mayo. Teams say that he earned good grades at USC and was a good citizen for coach Tim Floyd, and they report multiple instances of Mayo volunteering to help underprivileged kids.

"Everything that we're hearing is that he's basically a good kid," another GM said. "It's a big deal when you're drafting high. He's got to be good both on and off the court. I had my worries about OJ. But my people are telling me he's OK."

We've moved Mayo up to No. 3 on our big board and will do a more extensive report on him in the coming weeks.

i like rose as the #1 pick but i would like bayless before beasley,(by just a hair)the point guard is controling the playoofs and bayless is as fast as rose ,with a better shot.he can also finish and get his own shot.as a 19 year old freshman he average 20 points and 4 assist for arizona.he is a classy guy with smarts, who was coming on strong at the end of the year.
