Kansas Off to 1st 8-0 Start in 99 Years
Chalk up another win for Kansas, and this one is downright historic. Brandon McAnderson rushed for a career-high 183 yards and two touchdowns and the 12th-ranked Jayhawks improved to 8-0 for the first time since 1909 with a 19-11 win over Texas A&M.
Todd Reesing went 21-for-33 for 180 yards and the Jayhawks' fifth-ranked defense did the rest, holding the Aggies to 127 yards and six first downs through three quarters. A&M gained 191 yards in the fourth quarter, after the Jayhawks built a 19-0 lead. Read more

Even though this was a great win for Kansas, I just hope that they are also able to win next week in their game with Nebraska.
My last year at KU was in 1971 and I felt that we had a decent team but when Nebraska came to Lawrence that season, they left after defeating us by a score of 55 to 0.
That's fifty-five to nothing! To top it off, I can't recall any year since then that Kansas wasn't defeated by Nebraska. If Kansas should win over Nebraska, I will feel somewhat vindicated over our loss in 1971.
Incidently, 1971 was the year that the Big Eight ended the season with the #1,#2 and the #3 National rankings (Oklahoma, Colorado and Nebraska, not necessarily in that order). No other conference has done that, before or since 1971. The Orange bowl was where the National Championship was decided between two teams from the Big Eight! That is something that anyone who has ever attended any of the Big Eight schools can be proud of.

Yes the score was 55-0, but did u forget that in 1971 the NEBRASKA CORNHUSKERS were NATIONAL CHAMPIONS and a young assistant coach by the name of TOM OSBORNE was the OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR, yes the same TOM OSBORNE that has a career record of 255-49-3, 3 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS (1994, 1995, 1997), 12 CONFERENCE TITLES (1975, 1978, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997). That was then, this is now. This NEBRASKA PROGRAM has fallen apart. They were a very good team with under Frank Solich (73-32 record), but the program fired him after a 9 win season and brought in Bill Callahan who has tried to bring the West Coast offense to HUSKER NATION and has not yet been productive. The program is horrible just a couople of weeks ago they were destroyed by MIZZOU 41-6, Oklahoma STATE 45-14, Texas A&M 36-14. KANSAS has a great opportunity to just annihalate the HUSKERS. NOTHING FURTHER TO SAY!!!
