For anyone tired of the antics in Bloomington - be it due to coaches who can't seem to follow rules, a broadcast relationship that denies the majority of their fans the chance to watch games on TV, or any other reason - I highly recommend checking out an IUPUI game in person.

IUPUI does indeed play in a gym smaller than some high schools, but I like going to games even better for that reason. A $7 ticket (06-07 season price) gets you in to see a lot of Hoosier born & bred kids playing Division 1 basketball. You can sit a few rows behind either bench and not only see, but hear the action on the floor. And seeing Coach Hunter stomp up and down the sidelines is worth at least $5 of the $7.

The Jags have a Saturday 12/1 game at the gym vs. UMass - the first "big conference" team that's visited IUPUI for an on-campus game to my recollection. Go check out what could be a championship season for IUPUI.

Good for IUPUI. I hope Indiana returns to its days of 5+ teams making the tourney. IU, Purdue, Notre Dame, IUPUI, or Bulter. Maybe even a Valpo, Indiana State, or Evansville can sneak in somehow.

I have heard that more Urban Style Colleges are gaining in popularity in recruiting. Given its setting, I would be surprised if IUPUI was able to maintain steady progress in conference and make it to the big dance again.

As for the IU comment... I know I'm not upset about a top 10 squad, a full house for Midnight Madness, the best Frosh in the nation, and Big Ten favorites. I am not one who overreacted and misplaced my reason, logic, and sense of perspective that many seemed to have done. Anyways, good luck to both IU and IUPUI.

Nor am I for that matter, though I have to admit the Big Ten Network issues do upset me (I don't have a dish nor do I plan to get one).

So, rather than watching 2-3 IU games a week, I might now watch the 1 that shows up on TV and go see an IUPUI game. It's a very nice replacement.

I have had season tickets to IUPUI for a few years now. Win or lose it is great basketball for a fan that "knows" basketball.

Great environment at the Jungle... despite its high-school-esque stature. You gotta go.

I agree with all of the comments. I live in B-ton now, but much prefer an IUPUI game to an IU game. The jungle is small, but it's good basketball with local prospects, and they have a good shot at making the dance this year.

I'll be there 12/1 for UMass, that's for sure, as well as many others!

Some call The Jungle small, I call it 'intimate'.:-) Either way, there's not a bad seat in the house.

I'm as big a fan of bigtime college programs as the next guy, but it's a lot of fun to watch local kids compete and get national recognition. And yes, they've got a great shot at making The Big Dance this year.

George Hill is good and only getting better. You don't want to miss it.
