It's a sad day when a Coach who cheats and lies gets caught, then the father of the controversial player who may have lied about his commitment backs up the Coach with such high praise as "coaches do all kinds of things." Such high standards ! Such integrity !

Got Sanctions ?

How is Dane Fife a former standout, I guess you can't print Mediocre Guard?

How sweet it is!
Ted Kitchel, former two-time All-American: "I have a pretty good knowledge of Indiana basketball and the things that you have to do to make a program successful. There's a lot more to building a program than just winning games. Take a look at the guy up in West Lafayette (Matt Painter). He seems to have been able to do a pretty good job of building a program without all of this other stuff going on."

Why condone cheating? I can't believe the quote from Eric Gordon's dad. He is either not thinking straight or mentally impaired. This whole thing is a total disgrace.

Why talk with Gordon's father? He is an example of what is wrong with athletics today. In the past recruiting was done through the high school coach. Now we have AAU coaches, greedy parents and other outside interests involved. Talk to those who know about the ethics involved in sports. Mr. Gordon's perception of IU does not change after Sampson lied. Tells you the type of person he is.

Some things are more important than winning games- such as ETHICS.

IU should fire him, especially since he was found guilty of this type of thing previously.

IU did the right thing by hiring him and giving him a second chance. Now IU should do the right thing again and fire him. No one person is more important than the integrity of the IU program.

Kelvin Sampson should go and Rick Greenspan should follow him out the door. Nothing less is acceptable.

"Dane Fife, former IU standout". Now that's an overstatement. Former player, yes. Standout, no. If he was a standout player then IU's standards have really fallen. Well, we all know that their standard really have fallen. They hired a cheater and were shocked when he did it again and then lied about it.

From Eric Gordon Sr., "Iím not terribly concerned, other than Iím concerned for the kids and concerned for the coaches because this is about the kids.Ē

Gee...that's funny because you certainly worked yourself overtime (or should that be double overtime?) in Champaign last week to make it all about YOU! Face it....the program is dirty. You and people close to you are up to their necks in SamScum! On behalf of those actual STUDENT athletes left behind to drown in the mess you helped create I say thanks for nothing! I'm certain you and E-Money will be very happy all the way to the bank. I can see where you and Sampson found your common denominator as parasites so commonly do.

Although I don't know him, Ken Beckley sounds like a wise person with his comments. I'm an IU fan but Kent Benson sounds like he is sitting on sour grapes.

Of course Gordon Sr. isn't concerned. After Jr. leaves this season for megabucks in the NBA, he won't give a second thought to the mess they helped leave behind at IU. Class act and a great role model for his son.

Doesn't seem like alot of support out there. If the best support he gets is " remember these are just allegations" he and the U are in for a very ugly period.

If you are the AD or the Pres, how can you let this go on. His contract says it is up to the U to decide if he crosses the line. Do you really have any doubts? If so, why is Senderhoff gone?

I agree. But then, we don't have a vested interest with Sampson staying at IU. If he goes, I'm sure that there will be a couple of aau coaches lose their jobs at iu too.

how on earth can Gordon Sr. say what he said. he should have just said no comment as opposed to making it sound like he supports Sanctions.

It seems crazy that the Star looks to Gordon Sr. to justify the recruitment of high school kids. This guy continually says it is all about the kids, but shows that it is all about him. Funny that it will be he and his son that created and nourished this outlaw operation in Bloomington to flourish. In the end, has Gordon Sr. let his kid go to Illinois, the Hoosiers and Sampson may have built a longer relationship and a stronger program. The Gordons, Sampson, Myer and Greenspan are a blemish on the Indiana tradition.

since it appears Sampson is on his way out... let's start a list of possible replacements... obviously McCallum and Dakich, already in the program, Fife, Alford, Ron Hunter.....

Why even include the Dane Fife quote? What does it add to the story?

I hope the IU fans boo the crap out of Sampson tonight when they announce him before the game.

Eric Gordon Sr also feels that lots of players take steroids, most CEOS lie on financial statements, and it's all about the kids.

Didn't know what Eric Gordon's pop was just an authority figure when it comes to NCAA recruiting regulations. What a joke this guy is. I feel sorry for his son.
