Nice nostalgia, but most of the older fans know the answer as to which was the better team. It seems Pat Graham was on the team also. He could score as well.

It has been a long drought in East Lansing. Today is the day to end that drought. Go Hoosiers.

I like this team...I'd like it even more with fewer turnovers..which I think will eventually be our achilles heal.I followed the 1993 team to St.Louis and still believe it would have put another banner in Assembly Hall had it not been for Alan's knee..Brian Evans broken finger and Damon's strained abdominal muscle..and it seems like Pat Graham was hobbled too for that Regional.
GO 2007-08 Hoosiers but no comparison that 1993 team healthy was a #1 team in the country!!

sorry, not trying to take anything away from the current hoosiers, but the '93 team blows this one out of the gym, no contest....that team would have won the championship if henderson hadn't injured his knee

No contest! The '93 team would kill today's Hoosiers. How about today's Wisconsin team, which has swept IU, against the '93 Hoosiers. There's some perspective.

First of all, I do not think that we will win the Big 10 outright. Secondly, the Big Ten was better then. Finally, 1993 had a more difficult out of conference schedule. And, do not forget that we had The General as a coach in that magical year that I was certain would end with a title.

1993 had more size and better shooting.

Heck, I don't think this year could beat the 2002 tourney team.

Must have been a very slow news day for this " story " to run. This team is a second round out.

Before answering this one, I thought how the '93 squad would have fared against the teams we've lost to this year. There's no way Xavier, UConn and Wisconsin would've stood a chance against those Hoosiers. Aside from their depth of scorers, athleticism, defensive panache, leadership and ridiculous hoops IQ, the '93 team may have run the motion offensive as well as any team in the last 20 years. Having the perfect components for the perfect system would guarantee a very lopsided victory for the Hoosiers sporting the crew cuts and short shorts. Like DD said, however, I'd pay good money to watch that one. Since we're indulging in a little crimson nostalgia, how about '02 v '08? DJ v JJ & Leach, EJ v Cov/Fife, Crawford v Hornsby; it would be a better match-up for today's boys and another well worth the price of admission!

Do it now!

And my opinion, for what it's worth, is that the '93 team was far and away better.

As much as I like this current team, they would not be able to contain that '93 team.........Unless Crawford and someone else ( maybe Basset) gave DJ and Flash Gordon some significant scoring help. The only way the '08 players could win is for the final score to be something like 90 to 88, with Basset, Gordan, Crawford and DJ all scoring about 18p or more, and that would probably not happen.....so I give the nod to the '93 team

While it's fun to read this stuff, in reality today's team would be no match for the 93 group. We're talking blowout city, baby. That team was loaded, and if it wasn't for Henderson's injury, we would be comparing them to the 87 and 76 teams. Today's team would be able to give the 81 group a good run, though.

Heck, I don't think this year could beat the 2002 tourney team.

I also think the '02 team is much better than this years team"three guys made over 50 3 pointers each, and they had Jeffries, Newton, Odle, and Leach"who was not that great but would start on this team" down low. This years team would be blown out of the gym against the '93 team. They would not fair to well against the '02 team either. The only reason this years team would have even a slight chance to beat the '02 team, is mabey Dan could out coach Mike.

This year's team has a lot of true athletes but is undisciplined and erratic. Given more maturity and experience they will be good but right now the '93 team wins going away.

DJ White would of dominated the game, Ellis would of out-played Cheany, Basset is quicker and has faster hands and would of done in Bailey. Gordon would be benched in favor of Chapman who would be up to the big game. Lance, come on bench him in this big game, put in Thomas, his size would of scared Nover. Score, 67 to 59. Class of 2008 wins. Bobby Knight livid and chases Dakich.

I'm sorry, guys. I didn't know what to write today. It was a slow news day. Anyway, everyone knows the '93 team would trounce this year's team. The '93 team's defense would have Eric Gordon whining more than usual & asking for his pacifier. However, DJ White would give the '93 team all they could handle inside.

What a great artcile. Was Eric Gordon Sr. too busy for comment? How about we compare the 2002 Hoosiers next! Who would guard Tom Coverdale? What about JJ? He is tearing it up in the NBA right now, so I would have to say DJ would have to combat that.

I think we should compare Terry Hutchens to the great writers of our time. Who would win in a match up of Homer Hutchens vs. John Grisham? Would be a barn burner. I would have to interivew Gordon Sr. to see who he liked before forming my opinion. It could read like this:

Gordon Sr: "I like Homer Hutch in a close one....."

Are you serious? Don't mention this year's bunch in the same sentence with the '93 Team! One word for this year's team, CALBERT! Playing without the basketball on offense is a key component to winning basketabll. This year's team has no clue!

There's not one player on this year's team that understands the game of basketball. Talent will carry you only so far! Eventually, this year's team will have to play basketball and then, the season will end!

You've GOT to be kidding me.

I love this year's team but the '93 team was #1 in the nation until Alan Henderson blew his knee out.

This one's not even close.
