Lets go Hoosiers

Good effort against BSU, but if the Hoosiers want to get to a bowl game this year they need 1 more win. And so if Lynch wants to continue to be the coach at IU he had better get them ready to win at NW.
Not that we couldnt beat PU at home, but they need to be thinking about getting this win this weekend. They risk falling into the same trap as last year if they dont.

Just a little side note, Lewis isn't a senior.

Gonna be a tough two weeks for the Hoosiers. NW is fighting for a bowl spot as well and will be motivated. If the Bucket may be a "must" win for IU to get to a bowl, that may be too much pressure. If it is a battle for a better bowl, it could be a hell of a game.

It's too bad the stats/numbers haven't told the story of how well the D has played the past few weeks. NW's offensive scheme is similar to BSU's. Will be interesting to see how the Hoosiers fare.

To me the interesting point is there are 4 comments on the best football team we have had in years, AND 4 PAGES OF COMMENTS on the best looking basketball team we have had in about the exact same time frame. Tells a lot why football is a struggle. We care about round ball much, much more.

If IU football wants as much attention as IU basketball, they need to start cheating. That sure generates a lot of interest and free publisity. Just ask Cell phone Sampson

By the way ... where are all those Ball State and MAC fans that were swarming around her predicting a MAC whipping?
A quick look at Sagarin rankings has Indiana (63rd), ahead of ALL MAC teams. Why isn't that interesting to discuss?

I am probably a bigger football fan overall, but basketball at IU takes over everything in this state except the Colts.

Beating a good Ball State is not equivalent to beating any good Big Ten team and certainly not equivalent to being competitive in a bowl game.
IU needs to play well enough in the next two game to legitimately win them without having to rely on big plays that owe a lot to luck. Then I will be excited about a bowl and maybe even leaning toward Lynch as a coach.
Nah!!! IU still need to get a more proven winner as a coach.

Lewis will be a great quarterback, but even with his career day he isn't there yet.
1. He relies on James Hardy's height WAY too much. How many times did he just toss it up there for James instead of putting his pass on target? The first interception (throw) of the game is an example. But boy does he have an arm. He threw it standing in the endzone to the 50 yard line.
2. He needs to hold the ball better if he is going to be a consistent runner. His style of holding the football leads to how many fumbles per game? Defenses now know to go for the strip rather than the tackle. Good thing he is freakishly good at avoiding the tackle.
He'll be in Heisman conversation by the time he is a senior if the team around him improves over the next two years.

Will the stadium addition help? I don't know. If you look at the numbers, if the football team can fill the stadium the entire athletic program will be in the black, not red like it is today.

If only IU played Michigan this year. That would be an easy win for the Hoosiers. Hart, Henne and Manningham are the worst trio in the Big Ten. IU 42 Michgan 12

If Lynch can't bring home 1 victory...I dunno. I definitely would look elsewhere for a long term head coach. It's right there for the taking, and if he can't do it now...why would he be able to do it next year? It's not like we play Ohio State and Wisconsin. It's two mediocre teams....we should win 1.
