To "Dan" from last Wednesday's posting about a new UA Arena. I was told you changed your defense of your position that UA doesn't need a new arena to one of a so-called lack of hotel space. Dishonest people always change the subject when they see they are losing the argument Dan.

I illustrated that Rhodes Arena does not get filled because it is a deterent to specatator sports. Your argument did not change to "lack of hotel space" unitl you saw that my points are well taken.

BTW I'll humor your dishonesty, Dan. If there is not enough hotel space for a 15,000 seat Arena, then why do you support the construction of a 30,000 seat football stadium, hmmmmmm?

Your hotel argument is a ruse and you know it. You just don't want to lose the argument over a new arena so you cook up factors that are not relevant or even true. Most people who go to concerts, do not need a hotel room. Also, if one does need a hotel room, there are plenty not only in downtown Akron but in the city as a whole

There was nothing wrong with the Rubberbowl that a little refurbishing wouldn't take care of. And plenty of parking. This over $60 million arena was not necessary, and it is only going to drive up tuition rates to the point that my kids and many others won't be able to afford to go to college. Way to go, U of A. I hope your stadium looks pretty. I and my college age kids won't be seeing it.

I guess you did not follow the news for the last few years.

"A 2002 study on the Rubber Bowl revealed that it would cost $66 million to upgrade, refurbish and add all the amenities of a new stadium to the facility."

The costs of maintenance was and will continue going up every year as it ages.

Also, tuition is not going into this construction.
