Actually no. Those of us who are true IU fan may be disappointed but I wouldn't describe us as sad. We still love the university. You see, unlike you Purdue and Butler fans, we understand that it is the university we love, not just the athletics. We have not wavered on that.
ANOTHER idiotic post from a disturbed IU Fan!

PLEASE don't put Purdue and Butler in the same "post" as anything that has to do with IU.

IU will be looking up to the Boilers and Bulldogs for many years to come.

Ummmmm... it ain't all Dakich there, buddy. He can only do so much. If those babies on the floor don't get over it and understand Sampson is gone and ain't coming back, they're not gonna make it past the front door of the arena, let alone the first round of the NCAA tournament.
It's time for these boys to grow up. Dakich can't do that for them.
Dakich never should have been given the job. The kids told Greenspan that they didn't want to play for Dakich, and it's obvious that Dakich can't motivate them.

It is called tradition not the past. I am proud of my team win or lose. And most fans will admit it is pretty hard to win national championships.. so I am proud to say that IU has won 5 and has untill this year done it the right way!
Ummmm no. IU has NEVER done it the right way. If you think Bobby's way was the right way, then you are sadly mistaken. Behaving like a lunatic, kicking and choking players, throwing temper tantrums, etc. is not the right way. And that doesn't even include the fact that Bobby was cheating all those years, and he just never got caught. Not getting caught cheating, is not the right way either.

And when he did get caught, the NCAA didn't do anything to him because of his close ties to teh top.

Anybody know what the record is for posts on this site? Hopefully this will be the last and we can get away from all the vituperative posts against the players and coaches.

I've read most of them and will have to abscond from showing any more frustration about what has happen to the IU sports programs over the last 5 years.

Time to go, "back home to Indiana" and root for all the Indiana teams to do well in the NCAAs.

what have you guys ever won? i guarantee four years from now pu still won't have anything big to talk about. you have a keady reject, who just like his mentor, will be another good coach who could never win the big one. you guys had a great season this year, but you did it when noone was expecting it, we'll see how you do when people expect results, a role that has haunted the boilers.

The players wanted KS to stay, then they wanted Ray as their HC and they got instead 'disciplined' Dan Dakich so IU could calm the Hoosier Nation and not name a third black man as HC in succession.
IU kissed KS's ace for too long and when they finally HAD to PAY HIM to leave, they didn't have the foresight to let McCallum (the Assistant Head Coach all year long) finish the season.'No-guts' Greenspin strikes again.
I agree with the undertone of racism in IU sports, but in regards to Ray: Do you really want another HC with recruting violations in his past? Yes, I am referring to Ray McCullam. Look It UP!

The new IU slogan: "One and done". For Gordon, Dakich, and IU. Thanks, Sampson. You really did more damage to the program than most fans even realize yet.

You may have ruined the program for years to come. I don't care what this year's record is, because it's the future of the program that I'm concerned about.

Sampson, the only reason you should be around a school again is to be studied to see what produces a lower life form like you.

I must have not read your post correct, when did you say the last time Butler won a championship ? What year was that again I didn't hear you.

Please could you speak up !!!

HAHAHAHAHAHA. 20 years since your last title, probably another 20 till you win again. Good thing you scheduled the eastern carolina's of the bball world during the offseason and that half the big ten sucked this year. That way your record is artificially high and you'll get a high seed just to be bounced by a mid major who plays as a team and isn't afraid of your one man show of EJ. Have fun watching Butler play the 2nd weekend of the tournament.

Brownell, Drew, Miller, & Stevens are names floating about for the job; which would be the best fit? I'm not including Bennett; I don't think he's interested. I may be wrong though.

Brownell best fit. Drew close behind. Stevens too young! Miller, jury's still out.

Big problem with trying to hire a new coach is that they probably want to know what the NCAA sanctions will be prior to agreeing to the job. A post season ban would not be ideal to walk into. Most of the current stars on the team will be gone and most of the top recruits as well. It will take several years to overcome what Sampson did.

I would never get joy about another school having problems. I love IU and I will stand with the school, not condoing any wrongdoings, but it is my university. All of you people who are "slinging mud" at our school and our state have no compassion for anyone. Anyway, I wish all of our Indiana schools well and I have faith that IU will be back. Please, please stop bashing our school. I have written the administration voicing my opinion and I would not waste my time belittling our other state schools. I live in Louisville, as my post indicates, but my Cardinal and Wildcatfriends are not joyful about the situation at IU.

I think anyone who makes a big deal of someone's personal appearance should be gone from this forum. I have three brothers who lost their hair early. They all served our Country and to me they are handsome people.

Peegs is reporting that Terell Holloway is getting released from his Letter of Intent, leaving just Derek Elston as the sole incoming freshman committed to play for the Hoosiers next fall, since Devin Ebanks has alkready de-committed.
Et's take a look at the roster for next year:
1 Armon Bassett G, 6-1/176
2 DeAndre Thomas F, 6-8/295
5 Jordan Crawford G, 6-4/195
10 Brett Finkelmeier G, 6-2/180
13 Jamarcus Ellis, G/F, 6-5/200
24 Brandon McGee F, 6-7/220
32 Eli Holman C, 6-9/210
??Derek Elston, F, 6-8, 212
I'm assuming Gordon is going pro (he will), and that Ellis will be coming back (hard to say at this point).
Future looks very, very grim for IU basketball, unless Rick Pitino comes to Bloomington and brings 1/2 of his Louisville recruits with him.
In 3 years we will have a top notch coach recruiting top level talent and this will all be a distant memory. The future won't be grim for long.
