Penn State. You guys played hard, and just wanted it more. The good thing about an IU loss is that all the Loosiers don't post. Only the real IU fans stay with the team after a loss. This is not a negative IU comment, but a negative IU fan comment directed to those who are not true IU fans. IU will probably drop out of the top 25, but will at least make the NCAA's. Good luck to them there, and they better hope they don't play the Dawgs.

This team needs to shake of the loss and refocus for the Big Ten Tournament. A good run through the tourney and a win could still propel them to a #4 seed in the NCAA.

Here's hoping they play with some discipline and heart.

they wont drop out of the top 25 mr./miss nice win...there IU come on, the big 10 is by far the best conference, everyone knows that geeze.

...yes that was sarcastic

i have visions of spike lee on the side lines putting his hands around his neck, but this time its the hoosiers, and not the pacers.

...28-3, thats all else that I will say

It is obvious that losing Sampson has taken the heart right out of this team. It's too bad because this could have been a special year. I don't see this team making it past the second round of either the Big Ten or NCAA tournaments. But I'll still cheer them on. Go Hoosiers.

Could someone in Bloomington tell Dan Dakich that this is his moment to shine? I guess he is not interested in the full-time coaching job! Good lord, talk about throwing away a golden opportunity!

Some of the "gangstas" simply hate the coach and will not play for him. Yank the scholarships and see the bums work at Burger King next week.

I feel so badly for you Loosier fans. Take a look at the B10 final standings and realize you'll be looking up at the Boilers for a number of years to come.

The season will be over soon. One game in conference tourney and one game in NCAA tourney. This team turned out to be a real disappointment!

Ummmmm... it ain't all Dakich there, buddy. He can only do so much. If those babies on the floor don't get over it and understand Sampson is gone and ain't coming back, they're not gonna make it past the front door of the arena, let alone the first round of the NCAA tournament.

It's time for these boys to grow up. Dakich can't do that for them.

I think it's funny that the 'Loosiers' are the only team playing beneath NCAA banners in this state.
What IU needs is consistency from the top in the form of a reliable, emotionally stable head coach...something they haven't had since the mid to late 80's (the Decline of Knight).
UCLA, Kentucky, UNC have all had periods like this one and I can only hope that the administration takes a long, hard look at the mess they've made of things at the end of the season and puts the right man in place.
Don't hate on the players for this - it's a small miracle that the team didn't cave outright.

"...Hummel and Martin will be little more than role players in college, guys who will struggle to ever average double figures. I know they both have a lot of hype surrounding them but good high school players do not always translate to good college players. From what I've been told, Hummel and Martin are kids who need a lot of really good players around them for them to shine. Moore will help in that regard, but Purdue needs a couple of others, too." - terri hutchens

How does Taber and Stemler play like a combined 53 minutes and only 1 FG is attempted between the both of them. Ohh yea, Eric Gordon is on the team.

Choke. This most likely sets up a matchup between IU and Purdue. Nice. I guess that is if IU can beat Minn/Northwestern.

Seriously, Penn State's leading scorer, Jamele Cornley was out.

The only silver lining I see here is that now we dont have to play the winner of PSU & Illinois. I think we all know the recent success the Illini have had against IU in the Big Ten Tournament, so if we dont have to face them I am all for it.

This might drop the Hoosiers a seed in the NCAA, but what does it really matter now anyway. If we are going to make a run in the tournament its going to be equally stunning regardless if its with a 4 seed or a 5 seed.

This team has a ton of "me" guys on it. Sampson could control them somewhat, but even he had to suspend guys at least twice this year.

I think now we can see why Jamarcus was playing JUCO ball with his talents. Good ball player with a piss poor attitude. We need a coach who is going to recruit talented team players with good heads on their shoulders.......kind of like..uh um....had to clear my throat.....kind of like Purdues kids.

He may have missed so far on Hummell, but he was spot on with Moore and Martin. 2 out of 3 aint too bad when you are evaluating high school talent. Whats this got to do with Indiana basketball anyway?

Dakich will NOT be back as coach next year. Eric Gordon is over rated and the thoughts of him going to the NBA are dropping faster then Lindsay Lohan's pants do on Saturday night!

I said it here!

look the problem is IU alawys gets the best effort from their opponent. this is because EVERYONE loves, envys and repects IU sports so much. The national championship banners, the multiple Big Ten championships and the latest victory in the Old Oaken Bucket make us the envy of he entire nation. i am never surprised when iu loses in anything in fact it is amazing that IU can ever win anything with the referee bias against them and the other team's highest effort. The loss to PSU is a good loss it will pull the team together this team has shown a lot of heart with their narrow win at a very good Northwestern team last week. The hoosiers are playing great and will go to the final 4.

Let me get this straight - Dakich leaves Ellis at home for 'disciplinary reasons' and then talks about how good he is and how much the team missed him after losing? Wow, that must really send a message!

Dakich should have stayed home for 'disciplinary reasons'- his team has no discipline!!

DJ White (B10 MVP for Dan and the players who have forgotten already) was 8 of 11 from the field (73%). Another solid game. But where were the 'disciplined', set plays for the MVP coming down the stretch? How does that team lose to PSU with 4 Freshman starters - missing their top 2 scorers??

How?? Because the 'disciplined ' Hoosiers were treating us to Crawford (1-8), Bassett (3-13) and Gordon (8-24) jacking up 3-pointers in the first 7 seconds of the shot clock. From 5 feet outside the line!! Time after time after time! The Three Stooges went 7 of 33 (21%) from '3-land' and 12 of 45 for all shots (26%). Senior Co-Captain Lance Stemler took 0 shots in 22 minutes of play. Is that the teamwork and discipline Dakich inspired from those who actually made the trip? Who's running the show? It ain't Dakich, folks.

The players wanted KS to stay, then they wanted Ray as their HC and they got instead 'disciplined' Dan Dakich so IU could calm the Hoosier Nation and not name a third black man as HC in succession.

IU kissed KS's ace for too long and when they finally HAD to PAY HIM to leave, they didn't have the foresight to let McCallum (the Assistant Head Coach all year long) finish the season.'No-guts' Greenspin strikes again.

This team is blowing in the wind. Two All Americans (2nd Team), talent everywhere, and they look like guys playing a "21" pick-up game at the city park. What a waste.
