Kibbie Dome gets a make-over

There are 6 comments on the KLEW-TV Lewiston story from Jun 5, 2007, titled Kibbie Dome gets a make-over. In it, KLEW-TV Lewiston reports that:

“There are some life safety issues that we have to address and that's one of the phases when we replace the end-walls and make the end-walls translucent”

Changes will soon be appearing at the University of Idaho's Kibbie Dome. A major renovation plan comes after 30 months of research and planning by UI Athletic Director Rob Spear. via KLEW-TV Lewiston

The dome is history, not many NCAA teams get to play in an indoor facility. Bronco stadium is a joke and the Kibbie Dome is by far a much more entertaining atmosphere and it looks great.

after workin for the team and spending alot of time in the dome i wouldnt be totally against tearin down the thing. however thats probably not going to happen. it does need expansion and renovation, and it is nice sittin inside watchin a football game in november. by the way winning the fiesta bowl with a trick on the last play in overtime does not make you national champs.

the Kibbie Dome is an icon, tearing it down would de-face the Idaho campus, its was an engineering marvel at the time it was built. Its an amazing structure, do not let the looks fool you, anyone who was at the 2006 UI vs. BSU game will concur. I've seen the planned make over for the Dome and it will once again be considered an icon; not that it isnt one already; and the shape of the Dome, is designed within the context of the community the university is on, rolling hills and farmland.
