I guess IUPUI didn't appreciate Ron Hunter enough to give him a good raise, even though they have plenty of money to pay professors and deans.

Hunter could not play when he was at Miami and sure as &*#! cant coach. He is a con-man!! You thought Thompson recruited a bunch of outlaws waite until Hunter takes over Ball State.

Unlike Ronnie Thompson, Ron Hunter is a class act and does not make race an issue. When Ron is upset, he will not be planting racially charged letters under his own door like Ronnie did. I hate to lose Ron Hunter at IUPUI, but Ball State is in need of classy and decent person like him.

What is IUPUI thinking?? No way should people who run academics be paid more than a coach. Go For It Ron is an idiot.

Dumb academic institutions! Paying their professors!?!? What a joke!

They should pay the coach millions upon millions! Haven't you been to the excessively large natatorium and seen how hard it is to get a ticket?

I would guess you are one of those note writers to the outgoing coach.

They doubled his salary after he took the team to the NCAA tourney in '03... seems like he desevered that. But, the athletic department at IUPUI doesn't have the kind of money that IU, Purdue, any other large D-I school has to pay coach's big time salaries.
I would move on to a bigger school if I were him if he ever wants to make it to a top notch D-I program.
Good luck to him.

Why would anyone take this job? The problems at BSU are way out of control. It will take 20 years to rectify the issues. Thanks to Collins and Gora.

iupui has outlaws? oh wait, i havent read where someone oh say, like clemens, who gets arrested for drugs, etc. he is a class act regardless what people think about him. sure he is high energy on the bench but he is fun to watch. if he does take the job even though it appears he withdrew his name, he will build the program up like he did at iupui. save your misconceptions for the sport bars.

Why is it necessary to address their ethnic background (Hunter, like Thompson, is black)?

If they were white, there would be no such comments.

Isn't any other college other than IU going to hire a convicted cheater?

IU stands alone as the Indiana college that hires known cheaters.
