from la to Ny guys. Don't sweets hard. Bryant wouldn't trade to the NY. You guys are sucks. A Team with no talents. What talents NY can offer to Los Angeles Lakers? Allan the furt or the Zach Randolph fatty boy. Match with Match, NY can never offer anything to the LA lakers. Lakers are looking for super star and you guys ain't have any of those. Don't waste your time NYers. Pick up your apples from different trees.

The Knicks have become a laughing stock because of the stupidity of trading their first round pick year after year...and accepting over the hill, unathletic, lathergic, boring, uninspired mercenaries...who are ill-equipped to face the new style of basketball. Knicks need to dump Isiah the hood, and let a real respected GM take over this team...then clean house for draft picks. FACE IT...THIS TEAM NEEDS TO BITE THE BULLET AND BUILD FROM THE FLOOR UP...and actually use their picks and sign smart Free Agents who are more run and gun type guys like a Steve Nash type player....until they do that...they will lose 50+ games a season!!

If Kobe is traded to the Knicks, he can order room service from The Sheraton or Hilton Hotel in New York City & rape a NY Woman.

The Lakers are not going to take Isiah's garbage and turn it into gold. The Knicks have about as much chance of landing Kobe as they do of winning an NBA title this year.

I'm a Knicks fan. I'm not a Kobe fan at all. Although Kobe is probably the best player in the league! What this writer came up with is garbage? There is no way that the Lakers would trade Kobe for what the Knicks will give back. I love the Knicks, but the Lakers are too smart for that. I know that Kobe would make the Knicks better, but Kobe has a style that doesn't fit a Knicks uniform. We need players like the old school Knicks! Ewing, Oakley, Starks, Mason, etc... REPRESENT!

WELL IF KOBE ACCEPTS A TRADE TO NY WITH THE PEICES LEFT OVER IM NOT SURE THAT WOULD GIVE THEM A SHOT AT A TITLE PREHAPS 2 OR 3 YEARS DOWN THE LINE HE WOULD DEFINATELY BE IN A STRUGGLING SITUATION BUT IT MAKES SENCE ON THE LAKERS PART TAKE EXPIRING CONTRACTS BUILD FOR THE FUTURE. LA WANTS A BONEFIDE SUPERSTAR IN RETURN BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN THEY WILL HAVE A WINNING PRODUCT ON THE FLOOR LA STILL WOULDNT BE ABLE TO BE ANY BETTER WITH KOBE THEN WITHOUT HIM THEY WOULD BE FLOATING IN THE SAME BOAT THEY ARE BETTER OFF STARTING FRESH WITH HIGH DRAFT PICKS AND BUILD FOR THE FUTURE ITS NOT LIKE THEY HAVE AGING VETERANS ON THERE TEAM THAT ARE PUSHING FOR A TITLE THEY HAVE NOTHING BUT YOUTH AND A FEW MEDIORCE VETERANS TRADE KOBE NOW BEFORE HE HAS NO VALUE , BEFORE HE ENDS UP WALKING AWAY FOR FREE LA CAN WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR BUT THEN IF THEY DO THAT THE OFFERS FOR KOBE WILL BE ALOT LESS HECK THEY COULD BE ALOT LESS RIGHT NOW AS WELL ID STILL TRADE HIM TO DALLAS FOR HOWARD AND HARRIS

These jokers come in here and all can do is bash the Knicks. They do have a chance, any team has a chance. You just have to be willing to part with good assets to get it done. PTZ is right when he says that staying positive might just land him in New York. The Knicks are a good team without Kobe but with him, they are coming out the east...

What are you on the Knicks staff, Ken? First-round picks, check? Decent young players on rookie contracts? Check, Demetris Nichols? You need to spend less time hanging with the MSG crowd, dude.

I don't see this happening for any number of reasons including the ineptitude of the Knicks front office, but it is feasible, and nothing is impossible. The main sticking point would be Kobe himself. Not the no-trade clause (I am absolutely certain he would retain that wherever he may go if he leaves), but his realization that he cannot win it alone, and the fact that he would probably prefer to play WITH another bonafide star, if not superstar. It was he AND Shaq that won in L.A., and Shaq has won only because he had a player of D-Wade's caliber (excuse me - D-wade himself) in Miami. Kobe has not had the benefit of such company, so nobody knows better than he that it takes two (at least) to win. without that second boafide player, I doubt he'd come to NY, in fact I doubt he will go ANYWHERE without that second viable option. If the Knicks have one they could retain while acquiring Kobe, perhaps. The money isn't the key, Kobe wants to prove he can win again in this league. No one on the knicks roster as constructed would seem to fit the bill.

Everyone is calling the writer of this article an idiot for thinking that the Lakers and Kobe would agree to this. What everyone is forgetting is that the writer is an idiot because of what this would do to the Knicks. Hello? Have you watched our fall from grace over the past 8 years? This would be repeating the same mistake we've made over and over and over again. Stockpiling overpaid talented players that are selfish and past their prime while taking on more bad contracts and throwing away our draft picks. If we ever want to get better we have to let the bad contracts we have expire and keep our draft picks so that we can for once make a movie through free agency and build through the draft. We should develop our prospects, buy out or let expire the overpaid contracts to overrated players, make a move for Lebron in 2010, and get talent through the draft. The good news with that plan is that we'll suck through 2010 so we'll have pretty good draft picks to get some talent.

i forgot to mention that your plan doesn't provide us with a point guard who can pass or a big man who can rebound and block shots. All it gives us is some one else who can score points. We have people who can score points. That lineup you suggest (Curry, Randolph, Q, Kobe, and Nate Robinson) gives us a team of 5 players who through up every shot they see, have no discipline, don't pass, won't have any chemistry, don't play defense, don't rebound, and don't block shots. That would be a disaster. another 10 years of mediocrity for my beloved knicks.
