Six Decades Later, Fisher's Got Game
#1 Jan 8, 2008
I grew up next door to Bernie Fisher and your article couldn't have been more dead on. He once took me and his daughter Diane to a Harlem Magicians game, introduced me to the Marques Haynes, world's best dribbler and then donned a Magicians uniform and played with the team, which in the 1960's was similar to the Harlem Globetrotters. Bernie did it all, and as an impressionable young kid who played with his kids, he was quiet about his accomplishments, but obviously passionate about UCONN and sports in general. I've lost touch with Bernie, so thanks for the trip down memory lane.
