Shula's football lessons hit the grill

Don Shula could always boast of having Lehigh Valley native Larry Seiple as a player on his undefeated Super Bowl championship team, the 1972 Miami Dolphins , and now the coach can boast of another tie to the ...

They'll close within 24 months. This type of restaurant is not within their business model and this area doesn't have enough people willing to fork down $40+ for a steak.

You call that a steak? You can see the whip marks from the jockey hitting it!

Why is it not possible to have fine food at a franchise? Have you ever been to a Shula's? or do you just insist that everyone buy into your personal definition of fine dining?

I have been in the Shula's steakhouses and they they a wonderful dining experience.

You are treated very cordially and they make sure you are satisfied with your meals. When Mr. Shula said in the article, "no errors, no penalties"...he meant it.

Why always the negativity when a new project or business is introduced to the Lehigh Valley?

Did anyone go to the Promenade yesterday? I went to Barnes and Noble and almost had an accident with 2 separate valet parkers whipping around in the parking lot. When you drive in, you can't go directly to Barnes and Noble now because they blocked off the area in front of Shula's. If this is going to be every evening now, I will just avoid that area.

By the way, how lazy do you have to be to need valet parking at the Promendade? Valet Parking was designed in cities where you really might have to park several blocks away. In the suburbs, it just looks really lame. Unless people have a disability, why don't they walk 20 feet into the reataurant?

Yes, frankie, I couldn't agree more.
Such cynasism in the Lehigh Valley and I was born and raised here.
Some people are never happy.
Today in the paper there is finally something positive happening. Let's enjoy the fact that Mr. Shula and Co. considered the LV.
I am going to put $16.00 aside and go in, sit at the bar -- order their "signature martini" -- yes, it's blue and rimmed in orange sugar-- and enjoy the atmosphere, the Frank Sinatra music, the friendly professional staff, and realize I am still in the Lehigh Valley. and... forget about all the naysayers. Even if the steak comes later -- next paycheck! Skip the potato - I can make that at home!

geez...get a gripe...do you think maybe because there was a special event at Shula's yesterday and that's why it was blocked off for a short period of time?? I went to Fresh Market and LLBean between 8 -9pm---no problem driving in front of Shula's. No valets, no barricades....Looked like fun place!
Settle down...more negativity..how is it to live life like that everyday?
Yeah, sure - stay away because of one day!
Shula's and The Promenade is not for everyone - stay at Wal-Mart -- plenty of parking without valets! Then we'll hear you complain about a cart (or 20) hitting your car!

Exactly-- It was the grand opening of the joint, they will not have valet parking on a regular basis.

Someone else said oh not a place for the commom man. Oh Well!!! Somne places are more upscale if you dont like it go to the Old Country Buffet.

In reading reviews on other Shula locations, they tend to get very high marks on service and very average marks on quality of the food for the price.

So if you don't mind paying for excellent service and average food.....

Have you ever been to Blue? I'd say there are plenty of people willing to shell out for a good steak.
Also, this place is near Melt, which does not seem to be having problems, even with their high food prices.
