just chalk this one up as sometimes a team has your number for some reason, but 16 in a row is awesome look at utah state 17 in a row and lost to nmsu, utep is in the ncaa nothing to be ashamed of.

To be clear, we have a football coach that earlier in the year blamed a loss to not drinking enough Gatorade; and now a basketball coach blaming a loss on a game being too early in the morning?

i hope its a lesson Utep has learned, take everyone seriuosly! they should have a 8 or a 9 seed, but they needed to win the tourney to get a 4 or a 5 seed. oh well, its gonna be an uphill battle for our Miners in the tournament, but they will prevail! War Miners! im still proud of our Miners! awesome season, and the best is yet to come!

Nice of Barbee to throw the players under the bus with the comment of not being ready to play. The coach has to accept some blame for this disappointing upset. Barbee must look in the mirror and accept some of the responsibility. Otherwise, he's seen as a bitter and sore loser. Take some responsibility for YOUR team coach.

Honestly man,don't compare UTEP to the Aggies! That's an insult.. We're talking about a ranked team against a community college team.. The only reason the Aggies made it is because they play in a high school level league.. GO UTEP!!!

Talk about community college --- CUSA gets two into the tourney only because Houston wins the tourney. Otherwise, CUSA is a one bid league. Mountain West, on the other hand, gets four in, regardless of the Mountain West champion.

BTW, those stinky Aggies beat UTEP this year.

Yahoo projections: UNM a 4 seed,,,,,,NMSU a 13 seed,,,,,A perfect first game for the Aggies would be against the Lo-BLOWS......

In a game before Caracter was part of the rotation. AFTER the Miners had destroyed the faggies by 20+ points in gangland...I mean Las Cruces.

Go home aggies or I'm going to pay some LC cholos to paint UTEP all over your ugly high school looking campus.

i had high hopes for utep but after that pathetic performance im not giving ourselves a chance in the ncaa tourney....i was saying sweet 16..now i dont think we will get passed the first round. utep cost some other team a chance to get in the tourney because houston is going. a team that deserves to go is staying home........i still think tony barbee is not a good coach.

How can UTEP be out of a locked position on ESPN's "bubble watch" to a bubble status now, has this ever happened before?
http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bu ...
According to Lunardi: Last four in:
* UTEP
* Utah State
* Virginia Tech
* Minnesota
According to cbssports.com :(more disrespect for UTEP, being considered the last team in!)
Last four in: Florida, Minnesota, Utah St., UTEP
First four out: Mississippi St., Rhode Island, Seton Hall, Virginia Tech
According to Rivals.com : Last four in(wow everyone has has UTEP as one of the last teams in!)
-UTEP
According to SBnation.com : Last Five In
California, UTEP and Utah State are here after losses Saturday.
Minnesota can book a place by winning the Big Ten.
So much for promoting Virginia Tech out of Bubble Watch. The Hokies dropped back down a
First Four Out:
-Florida
-Illinois
-Minnesota
-Virginia Tech
-Utah State
Utah St. and UTEP will need to sweat it out, not looking to good! Go miners

ESPN analysis regarding UTEP:
ESPN agrees UTEP will be in:

"Saturday when Houston upset UTEP 81-73 in the Conference USA tourney championship game. It's no sure thing, but we still think the Miners are in good shape for an at-large bid after finishing with a 15-1 record in C-USA. But UTEP's dearth of high-end victories -- two wins over top-50 RPI foes (and both against UAB)-- creates little
bit of anxiety for the Miners."

ESPN commentators just talked about how everyone is forgeting about a team called UTEP that has beaten nobody this year. I guess beating Memphis and UAB are not considered big wins, I do agree we did not beat anybody in the non conference schedule, hope we are still in.
