Notebook: Maka petition doubtful

Barring the unexpected, Hawaii coach Greg McMackin isn't planning on opening fall camp Monday with defensive end Francis Maka among the 105 Warriors preparing for the 2008 season.

I don't know what Maka's case is. But in any case, if a guy is going to college, he should be able to play college sports. Particularly since it's becoming more commonplace nowadays (almost a necessity in fact) to go to graduate school. Thinking that a guy/girl is only going to be in college for 4 years will be going out the window.

i'm still holding out hope for Maka...Leonard Peters & Nate Ilaoa got their extra year so why not Francis Maka??
