There are 9 teams in our WAC conference and on January 21, 2008, I made the prediction that the University of Hawaii will be 7-1 for the year in conference play losing only to Fresno State.

Boise State
Fresno State
Hawaii
Idaho
Louisiana Tech
Nevada
New Mexico State
San Jose State
Utah State

It was, also, my belief that Fresno State would be undefeated and that Boise State would not be as good as it was two years ago. That the top three WAC teams would be Fresno State, Hawaii, and Boise State in that order.

On January 27, I felt that the order in which WAC teams would finish would be:

Fresno State
Hawaii
Louisiana Tech
Boise State
New Mexico State
Nevada
San Jose State
Utah State
Idaho

-Go to the Hawai'i Bowl vs. SMU and win

-Rank in the top 16

HOW TEAMS WILL FINISH IN 2008
Revised Jan 29, 2008:

Conference Games:
Louisiana Tech
Fresno State
Hawaii
Boise State
Nevada
San Jose State
New Mexico State
Utah State
Idaho

Non-Conference Games:
Florida
Oregon State
Washington State
Cincinnati
Weber State

I think that any of the top three WAC teams are capable of going undefeated in conference games in 2008. I tend to favor Louisiana Tech going 8-0 and Fresno State over Hawaii in 2008.

Hawaii, in my opinion, will be 6-2 losing to both Louisiana Tech and Fresno State. In non-conference games, Hawaii will lose to Florida and Oregon State leaving Hawaii at 6-4.

I see Hawaii beating Cincinnati and Weber State.

I believe that we will beat Washington State, at Hawaii, leaving us with a final record of 9-4 for the season.

Though I am stick by my prediction in posting above, because of upsets this year and Weber State smelling blood, there could exist the possibility that the UH could lose to Louisiana Tech, Fresno State, Boise State, Nevada, San Jose State, Florida, Oregon State, Cincinnati, and Weber State, while beating New Mexico State, Utah State, and Idaho leaving Hawaii with a record of 3-5, which I think is not likely.

Conference Games:
Louisiana Tech
Fresno State
Hawaii
Boise State
Nevada
San Jose State
New Mexico State
Utah State
Idaho

Non-Conference Games:
Florida
Oregon State
Cincinnati
Washington State
Weber State

March 13, 2008 Preseason Predictions:

WAC Ranking:
1. Fresno State
2. Louisiana Tech
3. Hawaii
4. Boise State
5. Nevada
6. San Jose State
7. New Mexico State
8. Utah State
9. Idaho

This year under Coach McMackin (a man who I do trust and admire) Hawaii has had it's best recruiting year ever! But Hawaii will be no match for both Fresno State and Louisiana Tech. Hawaii is expected to have a good year, but will lose to both Fresno State and Louisiana Tech.

Expect Hawaii to be 6-2 in the WAC. Hawaii should have no problem in beating the other 6 WAC teams.

Non-Conference Ranking:
1. Florida
2. Oregon State
3. Cincinnati
4. Washington State
5. Weber State

Florida ranks as the 5th best team in the nation by Rivals.com . Oregon State and Cincinnati are usually Top 25 teams and are expected to beat Hawaii. Washington State is a star-studded team also expected to beat Hawaii. Both Cincinnati and Washington State will be taking Hawaii seriously, when coming here to play Hawaii.

Hawaii will be 1-4 in non-conference play finishing the year at 7-6.

Mac will make terrible coaching decisions and field the wrong players in all situation. Hawaii will be 0-13 at best. I guarantee it. Just don't even try to be a fan. It's not worth it anymore. June Jones is gone. So is any hope of winning anything the next 20 years. The Warriors failed miserably and don't deserve our support. Football should be discontinued at UH. The basketball players should be lined up and shot.

The volleyball players on both mens and womens should be expelled. What a shame it is to be a Hawaii alumni.

Hawaii will likely be crushed by Boise on the blue turf. they couldn't beat them there with Brennen and 4 all star receivers, how will they beat them now? Hawaii will be lucky to finish in the top four of the WAC.
1 Boise state, beating Fresno at home
2 Fresno good team but has to play at Boise
3 Nevada good runner and better quarterback
4 la tech good transfer qb and good runner
5 who cares?

Another Boise Fan living in the past. You don't have a team. You have a freshman QB and your Boise State is rebuilding for next year.

Your winning team was Dan Hawkins recruits and also the ones that finished 13-0. Pedersen didn't win last year because all of Dan Hawkins recruits have graduated and gone. Get it?

Pedersen is now coaching his own recruits and he will not win the WAC again. Pedersen had a good ride but now must prove if he can win with his own team not Dan Hawkins. LOL!!!

Hawaii, Fresno and Nevada will kick your butts in your Blue Turf. That is a fact and you will be crying this year and the next years to come. Then you'll ask for Pedersen to quit because he can't win the WAC again. LOL!!!!
