Because birth control is not an option for many of these mothers.

Typical. Set up for failure at an early age. Dismissed education and hung with the wrong people.
Where does it say he dismissed education? It said he played on RHS Basketball team. Which means he went to school. however it seems a little strange that he would still be in High School at 20 years old.
Either way this is a sad story. as i said earlier two kids lost their lives that day. I feel so sorry for their families.

You "people" are so dumb. A kid with a spanish last name got killed and it is automatically his or his mother's fault??? The Racist message board is so predictable.

These mothers??? Birth control??
Democrats??? A mother has lost her son!!! He is dead and it is tragic, regardless of the circumstances. God help you people, especially "High School Parent". Do you ever consider that a grieving family member might look online at the news article and read these postings?

I agree with you. It is so uncalled for. These are two young men, and one was murdered. No matter what his race is, it's a young life lost.

High School Parent shouldn't even be a parent. Sounds like a class in ignorance is needed. Also, my heart goes out to the family. I'm sorry for their loss. I know what its like to lose a brother and the pain never goes away. Ever!!!

<quoted text>Birth control is not an option? What? Of course it's an option - it's free, free, free ! Or did you mean it's not a religious option? If I hear about one more mother who gave birth to a brood she can't afford, I'm going to vomit. These breeders need to be put behind bars for abuse - why would anyone bring a child into the world that they cannot afford? Must be democrats!!!
Exactly ! Thats what I meant. It's never an option because they just dont choose to use any. Even tho it is free. Amazing isnt it? They would rather struggle with all these kids they cant afford or raise, along with all the deadbeat dads for each and everyone one of them, than to simply get on birth control or practice keeping legs crossed. Yeah right.

It has been decided that HSP is not a parent...but a high schooler who is a parent and had to drop out. Now let's wait for the scathing reply. God my hair looks so cute today!

What does his or his families background have to do with his death. These are young adults who obviously got into a riff and one eneded up dead. Its sad that todays youth see and learn so much bad stuff today and they are fearless. There are so many kids who learn from the streets. Keep bringing the videos and songs and not to mention violence on TV! My heart goes out to the victims family!

Yes I would like to say Im sorry to the family who have lost a friend, brother, son. I live in the complex this happend in.I do not understand why someone would shoot another over stolen property its crazy. I am uncomfortable living in this complex with my husband and children because this persone felt the need to do what he did.

To all of you inconsiderate people who said some messed up remarks on this page, my boy friend was one of the friends of the young man who was killed here. Jorge will be missed and never forgotten. It is very sad he had to go the way he did, and I wish the best to his family. I can't believe some of the remarks on this page... what if it wa sone of your friends>? or one of your kids? you all need to grow up and be respectful .. you never know who will read these pages..

High School Parent,
You must have no life b/c you are constantly writing on this forum...and ALWAYS putting people down. Why do you always think your Sh** don't stink?? Are you really that perfect...or do you have such a low self-esteem that you can't wait to comment on another tragic story by putting others down to make yourself look or feel good? I don't know who you think you are...but thank God I don't know you. You are the most judgemental person that write on these things. HIGH SCHOOL PARENT...just remember, all these tragic stories that have to do with children dying...It could be your high school children one day that find themselves in a bad situation or deadly situation...then what? Have compassion and empathy for other parents out there...will ya, and stop being so damn judgemental..you make me sick!

You people are ridiculous. He was a great guy, who I attended school with. His backround and his family have absolutely nothing to do with it. You're seriously going to sit there and write horrible comments about a guy who just lost his life? Get some respect. And he was not a 20 year old student at Rockville. He graduated in 2006. Which would have made him either 18 or 19 when he graduated. Stop and think about what you are saying before everyone else realizes how ignorant you truly are. Try losing a family member or a best friend to this kind of tragedy. I don't think you'd be saying all these things then. My best wishes go out to Jorge and his family. Stay strong <3

Rest in Peace Jorge Rivera

I too knew Jorge Rivera and he was a wonderful person...very quiet and laid back, loved his family. His race and family background have NOTHING to do with his death, how insensitive and cruel are you people!!! God forbid anything tragic ever happens to any of your loved ones and that someone like yourselves sits there and degrade the dead like it's nothing. Very racist, you must be a miserable person and have nothing else better to do!!! GOD BLESS YOU and that he may enlighten your head with INTELLIGANCE and MATURITY because you lack it...very IGNORANT!!! So sad...R.I.P Jorge Rivera...rock the heavens!
