SICK OF SEEING INJUSTICE and marcaurelius you are both right.

I hope he sues the Hampton school system and wins a barrell of money.

Why would he want to go back to a school system that did not support him? YES, where are all the nay sayers when this guy is proven innocent.

I would still like to know who he PO'ed to get racked over the coals like this.

Hmmm and Freedom Worker... I agree however don't pass the buck. Start something! Start a petition...go to a school board meeting take a few hundred of your friends and co-workers. Why use the R word in this. He is a teacher no matter what color he is. We don't have that many good male teachers as it is. Take a stand and make a difference. Please don't make this a race issue. Letís make it educational issue! Lets put the kids first! We need our teachers.

I have to question the randomness of this search. Do all school parking lots get searched? Middle? Elementary? What about the nice school office building downtown? Do the dogs stroll those halls of that nice new building with hundreds of school employees on a random basis? Or was this actually not random at all?
It is always the teachers who are under fire for everything. Yes, send the dogs into school board building for a "security" sweep. Go through the parking lot that is designated for employees only.

You are right, this could not have been random because because all prperties associated with Hampton Schools are not checked. My guess is that you would have some petrified people making a lot of money at the top if they saw the dogs come through. Russo, you have the authority to ask for it, show some confidence and let them visit each location where employees of the division are. Do you have the nerve to do it without tipping off your little cohort of buddies?

I am never going to say I was a saint, but reading this I have to laugh. I have been around teachers and administrators, at the same time, in Hampton who were doing more than this dude was accused of. All other jobs get pee tests, why not them?

I had am asst prin actually tell me that there bosses didnt want to know what really was going on so he could do whatever he wanted.

Come into Kelly's around 4:30 and you will see see the PHS principals and people form the big school building drinking beer and doing shots of hennessy and driving home. One lady i know is always on TV and i think is a spokesperson.

Back to the topice, What is being done to help Coach Forrest get his job back? I loved his class and he related to the students well and I passed the SOL test advanced! I am in my second year of thomas nelson and probably would have not gone if teachers like him did not tell us all the time that we needed to.

As far as I know yes! All schools have random searches and as a student you are told anything on school property is free to be searched- I cant see that being any different for teachers.

However, I feel Forrest was in a tough spot. Even though these charges were dismissed you still have to deal with kids who will take this for granted. I feel bad for Coach Forrest, but if this was a student these charges would remain. Again, we are told we are responsible for whatever car we drive onto school property.

About 10 years ago now they had an issue with a boy driving his father's truck that had a gun in it- he was suspended.

Nope, all schools do not have these random searches of parking lots. Only high schools. And, from what I have been told Kecoughtan is the only school to test teacher lots. No Middle or Elementary lots get checked at all. So, is this actually random when you look at it this way?

Also, like was stated before, the school admin center has never been searched. So, if something is random for employees and students, then something needs to be changed. I bet there would be a lot of scared employees at a lot of schools and offices that would be petrified by this thought.

I followed the KHS team last year and was at the game tonight since my nephew is on the team. I have to admit, I was one of the many who convicted him before the facts came out. I now question the choice of the new coach and will have to say i also wonder why coach forrest was singled out to be harassed. This summer under Cacoh Forrest the team owned Warwick in summer league games. How can you lose now?
I was at the game and, to say the least, the coaching was bad. He made a comment in the paper today about watching video from last year and the kids "stopped playing" the last quarter. He was the reason they lost.
Great job of picking a coach who will waste the talent of Ratlif and keep players that could control the game on the bench. If I were my brother, my nephew would never play again for this idiot.

Ann Stevens is a complete joke. Sure he choose to resign. No support from the school system when the bogus charges were levied. This guy was so distraught over those charges I'm sure it seemed the easy way out. We trust a dog to someone life and career. Hampton schools and police should be ashamed. At least Barney had Andy to keep him in check. Hampton has nothing.

I am new to the area via the Navy. I find this case interesting. Please help me out... Who and what does Ann Stevens have to do with this? Was she in charge of the investigation? Does he get his job back since he was found innocent? Someone please fill me in since I do not no the full story and I have a daughter who will be at that school, hopefully next year.

This case has interested me from the beginning. Since he was wrongly accused and arrested, has anyone offered a mea culpa? Did the police? The school? The arresting officers? Or is this local paper trying to let the story die to protect themselves? At what point in the local legal system is someone guilty before any evidence is looked at?
I would hope that the system gets adjusted so people like this do not get tried in the press and hung by statements like "teacher has dope and booze" in his car.
