It's payback time

Gary Williams has never been big on reaching milestones. Round numbers, such as his impending 600th career victory, are not as relevant to the Maryland basketball coach as his players running the offense to ...

The TERPS are playing much better now than they were when they played BC before. Gotta say, though, it's too bad Vasquez doesn't foul out of EVERY game so we don't have to watch him turn the ball over and take ridiculous shots down the stretch!!

Terps game tonight is on ESPNU. Can some folks offer me some feedback? Am I the only person in the state of MD who doesn't get ESPNU. It seems like some many Terps basketball and football games are on the "U". I have a pretty decent cable package but I'm so sick of the U becoming the official Terp station. I don't know anyone who gets that channel. Why can't they just be on Pilot or Ray (better known in this area as Channel 20). This is a game of huge importance.

Although Vazquez does show some impatience he is still an important part of the team and they wouldn't be winning without him. I wish I knew the game was on espnu, I cancelled my sports package and hbo from my directv to try and save money after my bge bill as nearly doubled. I did that yesterday, great timing.

Vasquez sometimes forgets to be a team player. He seems to get tired of running the offense and handing out assists, which he does well, and wants to score. He then forces the play and gets into trouble and turnovers.

I feel your pain Tripp. No thanks to Comcast (the you never know if the service will be on or not morons!), I don't have ESPNU either. Now that the Terps are playing better, I look forward to the games. I didn't grow up with radio; I need visuals!!!!=^..^=

Hello,

My name is comcast. I'm pretty much your only option in the area, so I don't give a crap about what my customers think. You want ESPNU? Hmm...let's invent a "Sports package" so we can take away channels we use to give you and charge you $5 more/month to get them back. Are you mad about that? Well, I honestly could care less.

I too would like to have the games on channel 20. I have no other choice to see them in my area. I do love Johnny Holiday and listen to him but I much prefer WBAL of the past. The radio station that carries the games now is very difficult to receive in PA.

My folks are in Timonium and they've got that new Verizon cable/phone/internet package and they get the U. Anyone with verizon might get this game so ask around. You could also log into ESPN360.com with a friends verizon user name and pass and see if the game is on there. Service works really well, if you can get in.

Me, I've got a couple more months left up here (just north of Boston, even though the locater will probably say new jersey) and I got 2 tickets to this one for $40!!! People seem to be more into college hockey up here than college hoops, oh and bandwagoning with the sox and pats (yeah NY!!). I'll be skipping out of work early to head down to Chestnut Hill. I can't wait...this game is big for the Terps. Actually, I guess you can say that for the rest of our season.

Oh about Vasquez, if he fouls out of every game...we would be in BIG BIG trouble in every game. Bowie makes more bonehead plays in 7 minutes than Greivis does for 36 min. Granted, Greivis is a loose cannon on occasion, but he's leaps and bounds ahead of the next guy and getting better all of the time. Take nothing away from Bowie though, I like him as a PG more than Vasquez actually, just not to right now. He'll get his time...

What's interesting here (DC area) is that the Duke UNC game is being blacked out of ESPN, so it can be carried regionally by Raycom (channel 20). Which is bad because that leaves Maryland out. The only good that comes out of that is that we don't have to be part of the big Dick Vitale return...amongst the two schools that we worships.

Of course, ESPN 2 could carry it, like anyone really cares about Texas Tech vs Baylor--first post Knight game? Big deal! In the meantime, MASN, the "local" sports station is showing schools like UNC Wilmington, Davidson, Elon and Delaware.

I meant to say "amongst the schools that HE (Vitale) worships." Not we.

I also noticed that this system edited where I typed in "Richard's" first name.

Anyone besides me see the irony that the Terps play in Comcast Center, but Comcast doesn't let us watch the Terps on ESPNU? How about pre-empting whatever they've got on ESPN Classic? They'd get more viewers, meaning they'd get more people watching commercials, meaning more ad revenue. Hello?

That was one of the worst crowds I've ever seen. BC "fans" don't bother to cheer (the applause was louder for the dance off at half), they seem to shy away from wearing school colors, and, I know your school doesn't have a huge enrollment, but you think they could at least come close to filling an 8,000 person arena (might have been 2/3 full) PATHETIC!!!

There were a bunch of UMD folks there. Kind of random though. No large pockets, except for the section behind our bench.

Great win, but BC is really pathetic as a team. They were arguing with one another during a terrible warmup routine and we should have absolutely wiped the court with them.

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Capricorn

Self deception will be the main issue today. You may be judging your situation wrongly: don't hold back, say what you think diplomatically and without being hurtful. This should result in a positive mental outlook for you. Competitive sports activity will ease any stress or tension.
