Kirk L. Eich: Florida fan upset about Spikes

As a University of Florida alumnus who lives and works in Athens, please know that there are Florida football fans out there who are just as upset as the University of Georgia fan base about Florida linebacker Brandon Spikes gouging the eyes of UGA running back Washaun Ealey during the Georgia-Florida game.

How come nobody ever mentions the fact that even Easley said that wasn't that bad? What kind of gator fan are you? Shame on you. Brandon Spikes does more good that almost any other football player out there.

... and what about the time (a little earlier in the game) when an O-lineman ripped Spikes' helmet off his head?... and a little later when they did it again, only this time another lineman slammed into Spikes in what would have been a helmet-to-helmet only spike was now missing his helmet. The impact on his left jaw and ear sent him out of the game. So who was playing dirty? This doesn't excuse Mr Spikes, but clearly shows it was going both ways. Just because the press picked up on this one makes Mr Spikes the bad guy, right? I'm glad you don't do biased reporting like the rest of the world!

OK, Enough from the 'GATOR-HATOR MEDIA'.... They look for ANY Excuse to Blame the Gators for Anything they can, anything to try and make them look bad, its getting rediculous... I Hope and Pray that the Gators make it All the way to the National Championship Game and Win to SHUT these Gator-Hater Idiots Up once and for All...!!!

Well said CLK1 and Gator Grad. There is no call for unsportsman like conduct by any player, but any player can get caught up in the heat of the battle and sometimes act out of character. This should not remain as a black spot on Brandon Spikes. If any of you had already had the cheap shots on you that he did as mentioned by Gator Grad, your emotions may have made you act out of Chacter also.
Go Gators one more SEC Championship and then Repeat as National Champions.
