Thabeet barely dominates lesser talent. He needs to find that killer attitude.

Are not fair to hang this one on Thabeet. He did badly miss one dunk attempt, but the fault for him to only get him 4 shots in the game has to fall on the shoulders of the guards who failed to get him the ball in the right location. Thabeet actually did a good job of staying in front of Monroe...it was Monroe's passing to poorly covered cutters which killed UConn on defense.

Expectations are way too high for Thabeet as his talent and desire is lacking and has always been lacking. He has not shown the skill development of former Huskie big men like Emeka Okafor, Hilton Armstrong, Jake Voshkul, Travis Knight, Donyell Marshall, etc. Opponent Coaches and writers have discussed his recent defensive improvements, but ever since his Freshman year he was able to block shots and intimidate unprepared teams (nothing new). Against physically competitive teams, he has proven to be slow and sloppy. Even against Gonzaga, the Huskies appeared more comfortable when Gavin Edwards was in the game in place of Thabeet. The fact is, Thabeet has bought into his own hype and just isn't the type of player that the country wants him to be. I truly hope he proves me wrong, but Thabeet's play is only an impediment to the Husky's success. His style of play slows the Husky offense down and doesn't present a threat in the offensive paint. He definitely has potential, but he doesn't seem to be improving.
