Some days you have it.Some days you won't.Maryland would be better off just playing Maryland teams all year.So they will be comfortable knowing just who's beating them. This is Bull Crap.Play DEFENSE or get your butts whipped boys..

no emotion or intensity. zero presence inside. how many uncontested lay-ups did georgetown have? not much athleticism and poor execution on offense. if you can't shoot from the outside, have nobody who can play inside..can't keep up with the other team when on defense it's hard to win. md.'s recruiting is bad. they don't have an eye for division one talent that can compete with top teams. on thursday fran franschilla mention he knew gary williams well and said gary hates to recruit. as the head coach and being paid a couple million a yr he's cheating the program if he won't make an honest effort to recruit. milbourne and bowie are athletic but neither are really that good. bowie is an undersized shooting guard and milbourne is at best an average small forward. burney is athletic but the coaching staff must not have any confidence in him because he hasn't played much. tucker has some athleticism but has played poorly. hayes and vasquez are decent basketball players but not athletic. moseley looks like a real smart tough player but isn't very athletic. kim needs to bulk up but seems to have good court sense. gregory is athletic but all he does is foul and dupree is big, soft and one of the worst inside players ever to play at md. evers burns looks like an all american compared to dupree so does mike mardisich. most of md's players should be playing at towson or loyola. they don't have one player who could start for gonzaga, mich st or georgetown.

I guess I can say I told you so after what you Gary backers witnessed yesterday. I Also hope that you will wake up and see how the coach has made this program the laughingstock in the Baltimore, DC area. As pitiful as Maryland is, there are probably other issues with why they played the way they did. See, I'm willing to bet that these bums hung out and partied Saturday night. They thought that they could sleep in late Sunday and show up for the game. Memo to Gary and all of his supporters on this blog: This team is not talented enough to think they can just show up and compete against real D-1 schools. They better get all the rest they can just to lose by 15. What a joke!! Been like this for five years and there is surely no reason to think things are going to change this season. Just be ready to take all the hits you can!! One more thing. Did any one you Gary backers see the talent Georgetown had on their roster from Baltimore? Try comparing Maryland' B-more players to theirs. Not even close. Do you see the difference in evaluating talent? Keep up the good work Gary!!

Hey Here is a thought, how about trying to get a top recruiting class at MD for once in GW term as head coach. It might make it a lot less stressful to coach. After watching that game last night I can't blame it on just one thing. They just don't have the talent that they should have being in the ACC. That in a nutshell falls on the head man.

I was at the game on Friday against Gonzaga and it is clear that this team has ZERO inside presence and will only win if their outside shots fall and they get some lucky bounces. Vasquez continues to be an idiot. It's one thing seeing it on TV but seeing it from 3 rows behind the MD bench really shows you what a jerk he is. Even when down by 10 if he makes a good play he plays to the crowd and is looking at the crowd in the huddle as Gary is teaching. If Gary should say something negative towards Vasquez he yells back at Williams and walks away. This kid is clearly out for himself and thinks he is better then everyone else on the court, including Williams. He looks to be unteachable and uncontrollable.

definitely was not a lot of fun friday and sunday. the inside presence is nil, as of now. i don't have the crystal ball others have, so i won't write off the season. that said, the shopping list is long and the areas for improvement are vast. i'm not sure yelling at the players is going to go far. their confidence has got to be hurting, too.

Can someone explain to me how it's possible for a team to win a national title. move into a brand new building and then accomplish the following on this year's roster:
-They have a team full of guards and none of them can create their own shot.
-None of the guards are consistent outside threats.
-The team has below avg team speed in spite of having almost all guards.
-Recruiting big men and giving scholarships to guys who can't execute basic low post moves.

Everything wrong with the Terps was put on display this weekend. Fkterp's analysis was on the money. I said to someone that Dupree should be playing for Morgan, my apologies to Morgan, I should have said Goucher College. We couldn't get DaJuan Summers or Henry Sims so we settle for Dupree and Dino Gregory? Vasquesz can't leave College Park fast enough for me, on a better team, he'd be option number two at best. As for Bowie, Tucker, Hayes, and Milbourne, all role players forced to become more than they are. As for Dave Neal, he, like Mike Grinnon, is symbolic of the Maryland teams, post championship. Pre-championship, Neal would have been scoring the basket against Delaware State that would win the fans a free taco, on this team, he's their most consistent player. Good luck Jordan Williams and James Mosley.

Vasquez plays out of control and Gary wont bench him like he would anyone else. We will rise and fall depending on how Vasquez plays and how turn over prone he gets.

It's funny how all of the Gary supporters don't show up after getting beat down like a little league team. What's even funnier is how some people are showing up now after never commenting before about the program. Are you the same people that are starting realize what a joke Gary is? You are probably Gary supporters in disguise. All I know is Bob from Manassas and Bob from Towson and I were the only ones here stating the facts about Gary long before some of you bandwagon jumpers showed up!!

Hard to argue with that...When we won the National Title in 2002, I really thought at that point, this willl put Maryland over the top, or at least put us in the forefront of college basketball -- and we wouldn't lose kids to the smaller programs or schools that are in close proximity of College Park. Especially considering the year before we were in the final four and now a National Championship.
I knew we'd have a year or two to recover, since we'd lose players to graduation or leaving the school...but I never quite imagined it continually falling. We haven't bounced back...two years ago the program went 25-9 and was invited to the NCAA Tourney, although I knew the visit would be short as they weren't quite that good, I felt...okay we are moving back into the fold here and there are good things to come. Well...I am still waiting.

On a side note...while Comcast Center is new and state of the art, it doesn't have that feel like Cole did. Anytime I went into that building, I felt we'd win...no matter who was on the floor with MD. There was something about that place.

Either Gary has to get this thing straightened out in a hurry, or we are going to continue to let the program slip.

If Vasquez didn't play like that the team would be in a lot more trouble. He has to play the way he does since he doesn't have the supporting cast. If he doesn't make things happen, who will? Hayes? Milbourne? Hell, Milbourne has the worst hands of any player Gary has ever had.

You're right. I think that mediocrity for this program is unacceptable. I don't mind a couple of down years every once in a while b/c I'm realistic, but winning 3 or 4 tournament games since the national title is an embarrassment.

Hey Dumb Ass - Bob from Towson and Bob from Manassas were the same person!! So that means you have one lonely friend in the world who shares your idiotic view point. Now there's something to share. By the way, Dear Old Bob hasn't been heard from in a while - probably changed his handle due to the abuse.
