Living in the Commonwealth, I don't get to see all the games like the fortunate folks of CT, so I cannot comment except for what I read. And what I read is, "Go figure. The frontcourt is AWOL one game while the guards carry us and the guards are AWOL the next game while the frontcourt carries us." Rhyme and Reason are AWOL, in other words.
Also, the 2nd half slumps on defense and the turnover-baking all game long are going to kill us -- KILL US -- this year if something isn't done, esp. against Gonzo on Dec. 1st and the Big East thereafter. Maybe a "killer instinct" should go on the Huskies' Christmas list?
You go, Thabeet! Just don't start dreaming of NBA dollars. Repeat after me: "No matter how much I improve this year, I will be nowhere near ready for the NBA.... no matter how much I improve this year, I will be nowhere near ready for the NBA..."
And credit where it's due to Jeff. He responded. Period. Now to put some consistency in that period and punctuate games all season long...

This team can't shoot. Offensive boards and putbacks are great against a team that averages 6'4" across the frontcourt, but won't be so easy against the Big East or any of the national powers. Until they stop laying bricks all game, this team is going nowhere.

Finally, a dunk! It's not against Hibbert, but to see Thabeet actually compose himself - with the ball still nestled securely in his hands - and make a definitive offensive move to the rim is a nice sign.
But they don't have a shooter. Wiggins is a 'scorer' and Dyson is an athlete and A.J. is both. Phil Gamble still coaching girls hoops in CT???

Of course, UCONN is going to have to shoot much better, but I believe Uconn will get putbacks and rebounds against big teams in the Big East. It sounds weird, but a lot of big guys play better against players their own size....Good job by Thabeet last night. I look forward to continue to watch him develop the this season and hopefully next. Sometimes I want to strangle him, but it is important to remember that he hasn't been playing basketball for a long time at all...and therefore he still doesn't have the basic instincts that most players had when they were 10 or 11.

They didn't shoot well last night, but they can shoot. Keep in mind that people can have off nights,(man, Ray Allen must really stink, cause he shot 7 for 17 a few nights ago!) especially when they are hurting like Dyson and Price were Dyson was visibly limping all night. They can and will shoot better, especially as they mature past age 19!

Like an old woman with a new pair of orthopedic shoes, I stand corrected, as the front-court men of Uconn answered the call (big-time). Wow, I need to see some positive I.D. from (silky smooth) Thabeet. Exceptional game gentlemen ....... nice way to rebound Adrian. If the front-court played like this against Memphis, we would have won in a walk.
If this play becomes consistent and the D tightens a bit, we just might be going places ...... GO HUSKIES.
