Well, despite your rudeness and lack of ability to spell, if you go back and look at my post you will see that I said Mumme is showing the WILLINGNESS to run the ball. He currently doesn't have the talent to do so effectively.
In order for him to be able to have a mixed offense, he needs the players to make it happen. So it comes down to what I have said time and again: recruiting, recruiting, recruiting.
The man can't recruit. That is proven every year when we have recruiting classes ranked in the hundreds. He is a loser at his profession and in life. The reason he doesn't have anyone to run is because he runs the spread offense. That line is all his recruits and they can't block a girl. A team full of one stars and no stars. Why try something that has no chance of even working?

superminer will be wishing that, like the Aggies, the miners would have a new coach for next season.
superminer will be saying, "wait until next year" like he did the year before.
Here are the facts........read em and weep
Miners 5-5 (4-2) possible bowl game
Baggies 3-7 (1-5) possible bottom ten ranking
Yeah, we lost to the BAGS but we had one hand tied behind our backs and refs who put money on the bags to win.

Mike Price is a class act. He is a real coach not some recycled coach from UTEP.
I had more respect for Coach Samuel than Mumme.
Should have kept the old coach.

Good luck at next years game (at that place you call a stadium). You are going to need it.

Well, you are certainly right about the spread offense being weak. A mixed offense is the way to go - I'm not defending Mumme - he has been lacking as a coach and only this season has shown a willingness to mix it up), I just don't think we should fire him. I think the university would be better served in putting the money that would go to buying out his contract for early termination into their recruiting program. Something tells me NMSU recruiting budget is probably one of the lowest funded programs in the FBS.

For those that are talking about salaries ... Mumme is CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP as far as coaches go. Look at how much UT was paying Fulmer. Look how much SC is paying Spurrier ... Tuberville, etc. Mumme is a bargain as far as coach's salaries go (that still doesn't mean I think he should stay) but realistically I doubt you can find a GOOD coach who is willing to work for 200K a year.

Hey Miner fan. Scoreboard two years in a row. That hurts doesn't it?

There will probably be a new coach next year. Channel 4 in El Paso just reported that apparently Mumme's lawyers are meeting with Dr. Boston tomorrow. Sounds like a buyout.

Nevertheless I will still be at the game Saturday supporting the players. The seniors especially deserve it. I would rather watch college football or the NFL over high school football anyday. I mean really what need is there to go to a high school game and watch teenagers unless you have a kid on the team. That's sad. Even if I wasn't an Aggie fan and wanted to watch good football I would stay home and watch it on tv instead of going to a high school game. No wonder Las Cruces is such a backwater town.

Anyway I hope the next coach has better success. Winning at NMSU is not easy that is for sure.

Word is that mummes attorneys will meet with university attorneys tomorrow morning (11/17/08) to discuss his future. Hell yeah the sooner the better. Glad to see Boston is finally doing something.

Ron prince base salary under 200k. It is all about boosters something NMSU needs. Real boosters

I like Mike Price and agree he is a class act. I saw him in Jaguars the other night with drool running down his face and hands all over the dancers!

Well, if the buzz is correct, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Mumme's buyout price isn't very high - especially since we are buying out his last season on contract.

Let's hope we can find a decent coach who won't mind coming to work to try to turn this program around and who can pull money out of NMSU to adequately fund a real recruiting program.

Wow, only in the Good 'ol USA!!! A coach that has no winning seasons and gets paid to leave. What a Country. I Love America. In Mother Russia we are sent to a "re-education/workers " camp in sunny, but cold Siberia. VIVA AMERICAN INEFFICIENCY!!!!
