The idiot who wrote the headline should not be in journalism.

Wittek never guaranteed a win. He said they're going to win the game. What athlete in any sport, at ANY level, goes into a game saying they're going to lose, or even expressing any doubt about being able to win?!

USA Today is obviously employing idiots.

He isn't a polished speaker yet. He gave bulletin board material but I am pretty sure no one took it as a cocky guarantee. What is he supposed to say, we are going to come out and lose big time! Give me a break, a vet would have said something like, I like out chances, if we minimize mistakes and take care of the football, It should be a great game. Everyone learns to say a bunch of crap that actually says nothing in reality. I'm an Irish fan and I'm not pissed or offended. I was more offended by Barkley last year after they won. I hope he is able to get in the game.

Bulletin board material? If ND players take what he said as some sort of guarantee, they're not as smart as I thought they were.

Yes, a more experienced player would have said something a little more reserved, but what he said was far from a guarantee.

It should be a hell of a game, even with MW at the helm! I should be at the Coliseum about by about 8 am.:-)

Best of luck, Dan, and have a great Turkey Day!!

It is something that can be called bulletin board material and a bad coach would use it as such. I just think that the ND players aren't morons like a lot of players and just roll their eyes at the reporters when asked about it. The reporter is the one they are rolling their eyes at. Can't wait until the game. I will hold off on all consumption of manly brew until at least 2:30, our normal start time. I should be in high spirits and have talked a lot of shit by the time the game kicks off.

The Professor of Graphology has studied the handwriting of both, Max Wittek, and Chosen Traveler, and has determined beyond doubt that Max and CT are the same person. The word "guarantees" was the major clue in solving this case.

Max said what anyone with an inkling of competitive spirit would be thinking even if they didn't say it. I think he is better than Barkley but then again, I never thought much of Barkley, always thought he was another product of good talent around him.
