AT&T Cotton Bowl Preview

The sole reason I believe oddsmakers opened this game up at -3 was to counteract public perception and limit their exposure. Not only did the Aggies defeat the No. 1 team in the country, but they also have the recipient of the Heisman Trophy behind center and thus are going to attract a ton of public money. Roughly 62% of the money has come in on the Aggies as it is, and if the linemakers had set the number at a pick 'em, everyone and their brother would most likely be on Texas A&M. Marquee games involving star players normally attract the most public action, and thus the lines are easier to exploit because the oddsmakers must alter their true number to factor in the perception of the public.

Both teams finished the season with a 10-2 record and ironically both teams' losses came against BCS opponents (Florida, Kansas State, LSU & Notre Dame) so we should be in for a thriller tonight. Texas A&M left the Big 12 for the SEC this year and it wouldn't surprise me to see some bad blood between the two. Despite currently being in different conferences, both schools are basically (and will be) recruiting the same players (for years to come). With that said, this game has significant recruiting implications.

Come on! No! You didn't actually wager $$$ on Choklahoma? After all the years of the Gloomer Doomers falling flat on their faces in bowl games? Well, Coach Artie won't mention to anyone that you bet on OU ... and, for your sake, maybe you shouldn't mention it again either! LOL!

haha it happens to the best of us my man. That's why you only wager a small portion (maybe 2%) of your bankroll on each wager. Thus eliminating the risk of random chance or in this case a horrible decision.

> Sorry, UWhuskie, Coach Artie is strictly a college football fan! The NFL is not The Coach's bag, and only interests him if no Looney Tunes Cartoons are playing. The Coach might take a peek at the Saints ... but, only if they're winning, and not being unjustly raked over the coals by the NFL Tyrant & Dictator, Roger Goodell! I might take a look at your write up though!

haha appreciate it my man. Goodell is the definition of a dictator but what about that clown Bettman ruining the NHL? Thanks for taking a peak I'm trying to jump start my new site so I figured I'd try to cover as much stuff as possible.

As per the BCS Championship I love Notre Dame +10 and I honestly think they could win the game outright (as long as Golson can stay healthy) but we'll see what happens!

You did good, and you can pat yourself on the back! As for the NHL ... Coach Artie is shaking his head! As Beano Cook would have said, "What the hell's going on"? I don't know about Gary Bettman! What's this, his second NHL lockout? Everyone knows the commissioner is steered by the owners. The players are basically, pawns. There is hope for a shortened season, but, once again the NHL fan suffers! Well, maybe one positive thing has come out of this ... Attendance is up at the local neighborhood pond! Have a good one, UWhuskie!

> Your write up sounds reasonable! Maybe tilted somewhat in the favor of Notre Dame. But, believe me ... Alabama is a different animal compared to what Notre Dame has faced this season. Plus, the Crimson Tide has the best college football coach in the business. If I were a betting man ... Alabama would be my pick!
