After a few years the Magic will look back and realize Van Gundy did a better job than Donovan would have done anyway. To many college coaches flop in the NBA.

I'm a freakin' genius. Can you believe these clowns accepted me back? Not only that, I'm now going to be paid more than Urb. That' s gotta sting. I recommend reneging on deals to everyone.

His heart was in Gainesville the whole time and he is still searching for the family jewels.
He lost them on this way to the NBA.

By the way, Sentinel Sports section, good job. Love that the stupid Billy Donovan story gets bigger font and more coverage on your website than Van Gundy joining the Magic. Why don't you just move this paper to Gainesville so you don't have to bend over quit as far to kiss UF's a$$.

The whole thing has to do with political and financial moves to get a new arena built. This will in turn increase the value of the team and within the forseeable future the Magic will go up for sale at a much higher value.

Billy figured out what was going on within a day of being on the "inside" and rightly decided - "I'm outta here!"

Good for him!

It was wise to up Urban's contract at the same time. It was slightly lower because he (only) has one national title while Billy has two. Obviously they are both great coaches.Just like Saban (from Miami to Alabama), and Donovan, hopefully Meyer will realize that college is where the real excitement is and build a dynasty at Florida. They both made residents of Florida proud with the great entertainment and accomplishments of their teams. I went to U. Ky. and wanted Billy there. It looks like U. Ky. will do fine with its proven new coach.

By the way, Billy simply realized that he had made a mistake when the realization of what he had done caught up with him. He does not deserve to be bashed. I even made a mistake in my life, once before.

PLEASE! Did your decision involve millions of dollars and effect countless people. How about the Magic second round picks which could have been avoided if he didn't waffle. He deserves all the backlash he gets.

Poor Orlando,

I guess all those years of poor personnel decisions aren't the reason they suck..apparently Billy Donovan is.

I mean, obviously a guy who hasn't coached day 1 in Orlando is now holding Orlando back for years to come.

The NBA is just a beautiful thing to watch. Tell me some more tales of NBA woe, your tears taste like champagne.

The entire State of Ohio is now on suicide watch now that Billy and Urban have new contracts. Go Gators! Those who bad mouth either coach don't have a leg or a national championship to stand on!
