Tom wrote: OK somebody enlighten me on this pot smoking by IU players and being suspended I have seen nothing on it...where is the story? Thanks. Well, the suspensions of Bassett and Crawford are out there. What you won't find is the reason. It’s very tight lipped and you know the IU Star is not going to pursue it. You will find some speculation and hearsay on the boards that a few players got busted smoking pot by the coaching staff when they were up in Chicago. Since it didn't involve the police and its IU basketball you will probably never really find out.

I find it interesting that IU is grilled for playing Kentucky, who is usually good, and having a cupcake schedule by some PU, Ill., Butler, etc., fans but apparently, they do not look at their own schedules. I clearly understand that all colleges play teams that have no business on the same court due to talent level. What I find ironic is that too many fans are blind to the schedule of their own team but too easily or quickly chastise others. Then why do you do it if you are questioning it?????

WTF wrote: <quoted text> You must be a really smart Purdue alum since you assume that I am an IU fan. There are other programs besides IU and Purdue. Even if I was an IU fan, I would have multiple national championships to be happy about that did not involve any of your allegations. Many other teams/fans hate Purdue besides IU. Your fans are arrogant and a bunch of nerds with no national championships in anything that matters. Face the facts. Meds boy...now go thake them and get back in your room until they kick in...only then you can come back and play on the computer...

I also have a son who attends PU so I am not biased against PU. So, in reality, I am just providing my honest opinion. Sorry about that if that is illegal or if you don't like it). Also, the reality is that PU has some excellent academic programs and IU has some excellent academic programs. Each is an excellent school in their own right. Of course, if you had attended either IU or PU, could read and comprehend, that would make it easier for you to understand what anyone writes in these forums. My premise (if this word is understandable to you. If not, use a dictionary and at least try to understand the meaning) is that many posts in these forums berates the schedules of other teams/colleges but they ought to look at their own schedule.

Is premise now a difficult word? For where did you graduate that they gave you extra credit for that word? Statements like that do NOT make you seem more intelligent. They actually make you just sound like you are trying to be intelligent and actually aren't. Did you have to get out the thesaurus for that one?

Nothing better than some redneck sounding off with generic, stereotypical comments with no support/evidence to back them! Glad to see we are still in Indiana! Well said! Now, if I can only practice that concept! I'm trying. Charlie wrote: As casual observer of these threads, I'm amazed by the diverse maturity levels of the participants. Advice: If you choose to retort to a moron, you are only stooping to the lowest common denominator; which is the moron's lack of intellegence. Please refrain from being baited into "Yu huh" "Nu huh" arguments with complete strangers.

And your campus doesn't have NEAR the cultural diversity that is present at IU.

Just because Bloomington has a few more trees? I recall on my drive down 37 seeing an awful lot of cornfields- or are those marijuana plants for the BB team. There is little cultural diversity at either university. Oh- Oh you're talking about that delicious fruit juice they make at Oliver Winery. What a joke!!!

O also did not insinuate that you did either but read some of the other posts which is what I was referring to. I am sure you know the analogy, people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks. I wasn't throwing any but stating facts. It is obvious that no school supporter should be throwing rocks if they take a look at their own schedule. I actually think you are trying to stir up trouble. So, Purdue has a few lay-up games this year, what Big 10 school doesn't (does Longwood and Chicago State ring any bells)? Get off the UK arguement, they suck this year--Houston killed them last night.

My comment was not about Indiana University, it was about the person who posted the comment. And, you are right, We do live in farming central USA, and IU is a more culturally diverse campus. These would all be great points if they had anything, anything at all to do with my response to one person's comment. Where in my comment do I ever mention Indiana University? I actually enjoy Indiana's campus and think they are a very credible institution. You may very well fall in that "redneck" category I was rererring to!
