Judged: 2 1 We, on the other hand, go to ND with our hats in our hands and beg. For what? To play a team that now stinks? So that restaurant owners and hotel owners in Massachusetts will make a little more money? An unbelievably dumb move. So while our supposedly "state of the art" facility is sitting there gathering dust, Pats owner Mr Kraft (who also made our state look stupid by tricking us with the Pats) will get a little richer off the backs of the CT taxpayer. Great job, state leaders! |

Judged: 1 1 Sorry to say people, but the Holy Grail of college football is in South Bend. And sorry to say folks, it's a stepping stone, and a necessity for growth, to be on ND's schedule. And sorry to say, the program is STILL a small fish in a big pond. Patience people, we waited for Calhoun and Geno, we can wait a few more years for football. And GO TO A GAME IN SOUTH BEND, it is an amazing experience. Does everybody forget that not too long ago the Huskies played at Memorial "Stadium?" A field that most Texas high schoolers would scoff at? In case you forgot, here's a link to remind you. http://images.google.com/images... |

Judged: 2 1 They are not the "holy grail" of anything. They are the the girl that used to be hot but is now old, tired, dumpy. UConn is stupid to take this deal. No other word, stupid. |

Judged: 1 1 Dude, have you ever been to the College Football Hall of Fame? It's in South Bend. And to walk the campus before a game on a cool morning in November? It's damn near surreal. Sure, I hate Notre Dame and it's idiot fans like the tool above, but you can't argue with the history. And we will be watching our little ol' Huskies play the Golden Domers, the Four Horsemen, the Gipper! And the recruit who's watching NBC from his living room in Ohio, or Florida, one Saturday afternoon, might just see an up-and-coming program pound this sh*% out of the most storied collegiate athletic entity this nation has ever known. |

Judged: 1 1 Hold on, I have to pick myself up off the floor from lauging so hard. Rutgers--the fine program who has dismissed more student athletes for disciplinary violations than UCONN ever has; had their Academic community up in arms over the crazy compensation plan they put together for the Football coaching staff which drained funds earmarked for silly things like books, library resources and hiring new Professors; has much lower standards (academic and character) for incoming student/athletes! Yeah, there is a fine Institution I would hold up as a bastion of intregity! You make it too easy, too easy. Stop crying and realize that this relationship is only good for UCONN. |

I agree with pretty much everything you've said. It's a great thing for UCONN because #1 it gives your program some great exposure, and #2 it's something to sell to recruits. I know UCONN is an up and coming program and pulling premier recruits is hard enough as it is. This is something extra a coach can tell a recruit. A recruit that might not ever get the opportunity to play a game and South Bend, and maybe a recruit that always wanted to play in South Bend. Besides, half of the high school kids in America (maybe more) hate the Irish! And the financial gains in ticket sales and merchandising would be great also. The positives seem to outweigh the negative. I understand that people want to have a game at the Rent, and I would probably be pissed as well, but if UCONN doesn't like the deal, there's a line around the block with takers. Sorry, but it's true. The only part i disagree with the kid's in their living rooms watching the up-and-coming team destroy a legend. Well by 2009 the Irish will be scary good. Then the series starts in 2011, and Charlie may have a title by then. The games should look like those one legged-man at an ass kicking contest stories my dad used to tell me. |

Thanks Chris, but I was at the Navy game in South Bend. After watching that heartstopper (the 2nd half outside at Legends, but don't tell anyone!), I wouldn't be so quick to assume the future ND recruits will run roughshod over the boys from Storrs, let alone the national title contenders on the schedule ...
